If the government would just be honest about what we’re actually doing, I’d likely be far more supportive.
I would’ve been just fine propping up the CIA’s opium cartel in Afghanistan had I just been told the truth in the first place. There was no need to lie about it.
I was just fine with taking Iraq’s oil and making them pay us back with it. That was an honest moment.

Excellent post and sentiments I can agree with. It would be a massive change in ideology for the government to be honest but what they have been doing for decades is not working.
Not sure why they have to couch everything in the shroud of freedom and democracy.

My biggest lamentation of the GWoT is how no WMD’s were ever found. If just one had been found, we could’ve successfully toppled the whole region as planned.
When they weren’t found, I still supported taking their oil. Spoils of war and all. It was Saddam’s fault that we were there either way, and they owe us for that.

You people dont even know who is on Putin’s good side and who isn’t. When Aleksandr Dugin was in the news, the initial narrative was that he was the soul of Putin or the brain of Putin. Research showed that he was neither. He had a falling out with Putin because Dugin wanted to be more aggressive in Ukraine. You people just throw darts at a dartboard to support your boogyman stories.
You person don’t even know whether they faked their death but doesn’t stop you from making it up. Sorry i mean asserting.
And you dont know if the deaths are real.
You get the same benefit by faking the deaths and publicizing them.
Right and Nothing is real unless it’s imagined.
The journalists probably also faked their deaths.

He has no reason to hide out. He’s not sanctioned by the west. The point is it’s easy and people often do it to avoid some complication … for a short time or a long time. It makes no difference to the now proven fact that people do it.
It’s done alot when people want to avoid the complications of being alive.
