Just wondering if you are ok with that? That is socialism. The government owns EVERYTHING & you never, ever own ANYTHING. No land, houses, etc. Maybe you can own a car, if they don’t get outlawed too… Also you will be told what to do, think, say, & how.
No inheritance. None.
You will take subjects in school you are told, live where told, work where told, & at whatever wage they want to give you. It won’t matter if you are smart or not, highly educated or not, hard working or not, good at what you do or not, 15 years of university or just high school or not, you will get the same pay.
You will not be allowed to teach your kids, the state will do that, & they will spy on you for the state.
The government is all! Eventually after the power struggle & purge, a president for life will be your leader. Basically a king you will be expected to obey without question. You will attend or watch on TV his every speech, no matter how ridicules or boring, & you will excitedly clap for up to maybe a couple hours.
But, everyone will be “Equal” & nobody will have anything more than anyone else, well…except for the ruling class…but hey, everyone ELSE will be equal…
You will dare not speak a word against the state or leader. If you are even suspected of anything, you will just disappear…
Wrong. Wanting expansion of certain social programs does not mean they are for total socialism. And it is the norm that you go far left (or right) during the primaries and then skew towards the middle for the general. But hey, another month, another socialism thread.
Man, we went from wanting universal health care where tens of thousands of people don’t die a year for a lack of coverage and hundreds of thousands don’t go bankrupt for medical debt to abolishing private property real quick.
My sister lived in France & Norway many years. In Norway a doctor makes about $100 a month more than a garbage truck driver. Most of Europe has laws that forbid you to speak your mind, you can get 2 to 10 years in prison. Can’t hurt anyone’s widdle feewings!
NO FREE SPERECH! FYI: The state decides what is good or bad speech.
Taxes are unbelievable. Especially gas taxes. Cost of living too. But hey, that’s ok, as long as we all get “Free” stuff!
I don’t think your sister is telling you the truth
The European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), signed on 4 November 1950, guarantees a broad range of human rights to inhabitants of member countries of the Council of Europe, which includes almost all European nations. These rights include Article 10, which entitles all citizens to free expression.
