Do you consider this a disturbing trend?

Ethics…it’s called ethics.

Had to do that in Delaware twenty years ago for the Italian festival in Wilmington.

The cost of living has never been higher. Many families have two parents workkng because they have to.

Mortgage, rent, utility bills, 401K contribution, health insurance premiums, after school activities, food, clothes all have never been more expensive.

Add in internet (try having school age kids without the internet), ttying to put money away for kids education, the occasional holiday and there is a real need to for both parents to work.

Its all well and good to say forego anytging that is non essential but there has to be more to life than just existing.

This was two days after the city flooded the South Side with police patrols.

No prosecutions and no consequences are the problem, not police work.

The key is energy. Start producing.

Can you expand on that. I am not sure what you mean.

While these are all good reasons for growth in violence they don’t explain the 30 year hiatus of crime spikes.

Keystone arghl blarghl.

Maybe you are not noticing the age of the little criminals?

Is the age somehow different from when 14-16 up were being arrested for gang banging in the 90s? Nah so again your points stand in terms of trying to understand what causes violence. What they don’t explain is the drop in violence over the 30 years preceding the pandemic.

Actually, too many families don’t even have two parents in the household, and THAT is a bigger contributor to the disturbing trend that having two parents working.

I think bail reform and blind prosecutorial discretion is causing the current spike in violence. The lockdowns didn’t help but now it’s the reform and the idiotic decision to pick and choose what to prosecute despite an act of violence being involved.

Yeah because when crime first spiked in 2020 Biden was president.

Rent free by the way.
