DNC moves to change debate rules to exclude Tulsi Gabbard

Xochitl Hinojosa, the Democratic National Committee’s communications director, tweeted Tuesday evening that “of course the threshold will go up.” “By the time we have the March debate, almost 2,000 delegates will be allocated,” Hinojosa wrote. “The threshold will reflect where we are in the race, as it always has.”

That sounds right. Nobody in the Democratic Party wants Tulsi.

Or debate his record.

There is zero justification for her presence at this stage. Exactly how many delegates has she won thus far?

There were primaries in all states in 2012.

None were canceled.

They just cancelled primaries.

How many Electoral College votes are there for American Samoa?

How about all the other states that have had primaries thus far? Was there a town hall or a debate including all those 6 candidates prior to your state’s primary?

Why should they waste time during a debate with a candidate who has demonstrably shown there is minimal support for her candidature?

For anyone who feels genuinely concerned about the prospect that T Gabbard won’t be on the debate stage, maybe you could consider voting for her in the 2020 Presidential election rather than D Trump.

I see only 26 states that had "competition’ for Obama.

Guess the rest held a contest with one person on the ballot (waste of money if you ask me).

Nope.

Probably one one on the ballot that was on any other state other than utah.

So let see.

Change the rules to make sure bloomberg gets to debate . .

Change the rules so someone else doesn’t get to . .

Things that make you go hmmmm

The marginal cost of putting Obama’s name on the primary ballot was minimal.

Primaries are held for more offices than just President of the United States.

But thanks for admitting you were mistaken in your original assertion. :sunglasses:

Surely if D Trump had participated in a Republican primary debate Fox News would have covered it? Why did the RNC not schedule debates prior to all primaries where there was more than one Republican on the ballot?

All depends on the state. many hold just the presidential, then the rest later.

Why would Trump supporters be so interested/concerned about the DNC procedural processes to arrive at their 2020 presidential nominee?

They deeply care about fairness.

She still around?

William Weld received 6.5% of the vote in Utah. That’s way more than Gabbard has received anywhere…except of course American Samoa, where the votes are mostly symbolic.

Nationally, Weld is polling at 5-8% amongst GOP primary voters. Gabbard has consistently been at 1-2%…and the Dems let her participate in early debates. Trump has never debated Weld.

Why is the GOP conspiring to keep Weld’s candidacy a secret from the American people?

They really aren’t

It is a strategy to sow the seeds that the eventual outcome of the primary is somehow illegitimate and that the nomination was “stolen” from whoever loses. It doesn’t matter who actually wins, the argument will be the same.
