Disney has lost 200 BILLION DOLLARS in Two Years

These things go in cycles.

In the 50s it was all about big budget dramas, usually period dramas. Then they ran those into the ground and everyone lost interest.

In the 60s and early 70s it was all about Westerns. Then they ran those into the ground and everyone stopped going to see them.

Then from the late 70s through the mid 80s it was all about science fiction. Then those got ran into the ground. There was also a revival of period big dramas and those died out fast since they were getting ran into the ground.

Mid 80s through the late 90s was the golden age of the action hero movie. Then those got dumb and were ran into the ground.

Early through mid 00s the irreverent comedy dominated the market. Then those got sanitized and ran into the ground.

Finally we come up the modern era, which has been overly dominated by superheroes. And now those have been ran into the ground.

I personally think Westerns will be the next dominant genre. And Hollywood will run them into the ground again within 8 years.

It’s a solid film.

But it’s one of those movies where you can tell its development was an absolute train wreck. Too many hands in the cake with the Flash. So we ended up with a decent movie that could have been so much more.

The CGI and cinematography are the biggest giveaways of its troubled development. Some scenes look FANTASTIC. Properly high budget, correctly edited, beautiful picture scapes.

Then other scenes look like utter trash that was thrown together at the last second by overworked CGI artists who didn’t know what they were supposed be creating.

Finding joy in the financial downfall of a company because of some perceived woke grievance is stupid.

That’s my take on Marvel.

Up until Endgame, I absolutely had to go to see the movies in IMAX with my kids.

Now, I am content with just waiting until it comes on Disney+. I think that switch is very common now, like you described.

We need more original content. Oppenheimer is a good example of a movie I will absolutely see in IMAX.

Iger should reach out to DeSantis and simply say “No mas”.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the House of Mouse is sold if losses continue.

No, what you posted was just words. You didn’t cite an article.

I don’t find any joy in it.

I want them to make better movies. And it has nothing to do with any perceived notion of wokeness.

I just want more original films. Better writing. CGI not rushed to the point where it looks WORSE than 1993’s Jurassic Park. And I want movies to be edited correctly again. Not every movie needs to be 3 hours long. Many of these modern films (both Disney and otherwise) would be so much better if they cut forty minutes out of them.

I am with you on lack of originality. I also agree with special effects. Somehow good acting has taken a back seat to how good movie looks.
But i do believe the level of wokeness has reached a boiling point. The movies suck because of forced messages.

And that would be a good thing.

What “forced message” is there in the top 10 movies?

What are the top 10 movies?

it is the last time disney reported earning (may 10th). anything else besides official earnings report is irrelevant and speculation.

Allan

comes out every 3 months for disney.

i know you like opinions and not facts.

do you not know the difference between profits and market cap?

you want me to teach you?

market cap is the number of shares in a company x the stock market price.

profits are revenue minus cost.

the amount of money that shareholders make or lose have NOTHING to do with profits made.

Don’t forget porn in school libraries in K through 12 grades.

When the lying leftists accuse DeSantis of banning books, this is what they are yapping about.

nope, in this case i know more than you.

stay in your lame.

market cap has absolute nothing to do with profits.

market cap is strictly controlled by stock trading.
