Does one have to be an American citizen to avoid being detained without charges? What if they are an H1B visa holder? How does a police department determine this?

Democrats care about border security, and they seek to approach the issue in a nuanced manner as immigration is a complicated topic. Republicans don’t care about listening to any of that because they already made up their minds about what Democrats think.

Not on the right, vote mostly Democrat, but I am pro second amendment and against illegal immigration. Other issues usually are a higher priority with me though.

Just an easy question. I’ve lived under, (I guess would be the correct word), eleven Presidents. I know there are probably many out there who have been around longer than myself but I’m just curious. Did you ever think taxpayer funded mouthpieces would be fighting for the rights of Foreigners over The Rights of American Citizens? How could WE, and I do mean WE allow things to get here? Some people are offended by my use of the term WE allowed but correct me if I’m wrong, this is OUR country, period. What happens here is OUR responsibility. The majority of Citizens just sit around and watch the Media and those in government try and destroy OUR President. We watch our Congressional leaders put Foreigner’s Rights and ILLEGAL ALIEN’s Rights above OUR own. Did you ever think YOU would allow this to happen in America? Well my friends. You, me and millions of others are doing just that. I guess the question should be this. What are WE going to do about it?

Since that’s not happening there’s nothing to do.

If you want cities (and states) to implement immigration law then the simple solution would be to change the law so it isn’t illegal for them to do so.

No. They want to help them become Americans. Not build a wall or deport them. The GOP is the only thing keeping them illegal because they’ve been convinced they bring disease, crime, murder, they’re rapists, although some I assume are good people.

Democrats want their vote and they don’t care if they are Americans or not! And they certainly don’t care if they murder Americans, its just one less vote against them they won’t have to worry about.

And what a better way to maintain a law abiding civil society by allowing “illegal” activity as the first step to citizenship, oh yeah that’s going to work just fine!

The why was it so hard for Miami-Dade to determine Garland Creedle was an American citizen? If it’s very easy, why does ICE not secure warrants for the individuals they suspect of being illegal aliens?

Honestly I never thought our DOJ, FBI and CIA and other law enforcement agencies could be so politically corrupted to open such an asinine investigation on a POTUS who is tougher on Russia than his predecessors were!

It depends, if a warrant has been issued for the kidnapper, they would, of course, notify the other jurisdiction that the person was in their custody since that would the legal reason they detained the person. San Francisco cops have no ability to determine the status of someone they arrest and without a warrant subject the city to financial liability if they make the wrong determination. The city, as policy, prohibits incurring this risk and is under no legal obligation to hold the person without a warrant.

Why do we need to help them to become legal citizens? They should be the ones taking the steps to become legal. Should we just make them all legal and all is well and good? No harm no foul?

Skip in front of people actually taking the proper steps to become legal and doing things the proper way. You guys, you’re already here so just have citizenship.
