Detroit city council refuses to issue a permit for car jump

Apparently for the last two years, they got permits to jump the General Lee under the condition they cover the hood - and lied, didn’t cover the hood and did it anyway.

So I don’t think the city council was in a mind to take them at their word.

Ah, there is more to the story. Not surprising. Apparently conservatives here are “fool me twice, please keep fooling me”

The city wasn’t providing anything but a venue and chose to deny it because of the flag.

Free speech does not equal the right to have a venue provided to you. There is no right to perform a stunt car jump.

But I doubt it. Liberal town so I’m sure the liberal city council members will double down on stupid over a license plate from a 1977 movie that isn’t even on the car in question.

It sounds to me like they’ve confused a Dodge Charger with a Pontiac Trans Am and a mistake like that for the “motor city”…is inexcusable.
