Speaking of science…should we pass laws now giving parents “parental choice” as to whether their children should be taught biological evolution in public schools now as well?

If enough parents complain, we should strip evolution out of schools? Make them wait until “free college” to learn about it?

This example is extremely relevant because the same arguments were being made about evolution the last time conservatives managed to get on so many school boards.

What other parts of the curriculum should be subject to “parental choice”?

We should stop teaching evolution simply because of the large gaps in it and no fosils for intermediate species. Even Darwin himself admitted that.

Teaching kids there are different types of people in the world is not “teaching your child about lesbians”.

Truly interesting that there is a strong correlation between people who believe themselves to be “critical, independent thinkers” are the ones most scared that their children are easily programmable little robots that will be indoctrinated forever.

Yes- interesting how they view children.

Yet somehow as kids, these people who so fear their kids will be indoctrinated themselves avoided this kind of “programming” to become the “independent thinkers” they are today.

Glad to see this award upheld on appeal. There should indeed by a steep price to pay for false accusations of racism and Oberlin College is rightly being held to account.
