Nearly 150 unauthorized workers have been accounted for among three businesses in Colorado following workplace audits, resulting in more than $8 million in fines.
The fines are a result of “widespread employment eligibility violations,” ICE said.
The largest fine — $6,186,171 — went to CCS Denver after ICE discovered a 100% substantive violation rate and evidence of knowingly hiring and employing at least 87 unauthorized workers.
PBC Commercial Cleaning Systems had a 74% violation rate and at least 12 workers were hired and put to work without proper credentials, resulting in a fine of $1,599,510.
Green Management Denver was fined $270,195 after 44 authorized employees were identified, along with a 100% violation rate. . . .
Have to wonder if the administration is spinning up the next tactic to encourage illegals to self deport. Making a public show of targeting the employers with massive fines is a sure way to discourage hiring illegals in the first place. They are allowing ICE to coordinate with the IRS and Treasury. And these employers are sending in payroll taxes listed under TIN numbers for illegals they employee. It wasn’t enforced before, but those IRS and Treasury records are a paper trail right back to employers using illegal alien labor.
If a person has 30 employees (a successful landscaper or HVAC sales& repair with 10 crews) and one or two of the guys happen to be illegals who sneaked through, and one or two are illegals about whom they turned a blind eye . . . you might be right.
Now picture Elliot Ness walking through a storefront and in the back room THE ENTIRE OPERATION is built around hiring nothing but illegals.
That was the agreement made in 1986 when we legalized 12 million illegals but it went by the wayside and has not been enforced. It’s about time it was.
I think you’re missing it (deliberately?? I dunno)
If Walmart workers are making $18 now in Colorado (they are)
And some employer wants to hire them, or people like them away to clean offices,
that person does not need not pay
4 x $18 =$72/hour to get them to do that.
All that employer needs to do is pay them
1.4 x $18 = $25.20/hour.
