They are saying that Congress needs to review all of the ICE programs and see if they need tweaking or start with a clean slate and make a better organization. Not one Democrat is saying to abolish it and have nothing there or even have a gap between getting something new. Not one Democrat has said that they want the new agency to have any less powers to administer enforcement.

I agree that this is not the same as saying that no Democrat said they wanted to abolish ICE, which they have indeed said. Perhaps just clarify that there are a number of Democrats who want to abolish ICE and the argument can be resolved.

Your “apologetic” was flawed by that absurdity, and outright inaccuracy. Some Democrats are calling for it to be abolished (they are mentioned at that CNN link), just as you denied.
There has not been one Democrat that I know of that has only stated abolish without the reasoning that there needs to be a replacement. Find me an example and I will retract that statement. I have been listening to this argument a lot lately. And every time someone mentions it they have not stated that it should be abolished with no replacement.
