Democrats do want open borders, regardless of what the NYT and others are saying

your inclusion of Cubans is not relevant when talking nationally… except to point out that the reason Cubans don’t love Democrats is because they or their families had a real taste of mature socialism and they don’t want it. Whereas the illegal Hispanics from Mexico believe the pie in the sky utopianism they hear from Democrats. Free free free sounds nice until you realize that everything might be free… except you and your family.

Why let facts get in the way of a good right-wing talking point? Here’s the full exchange: I’ll bold the important parts that debunk the context you are trying to create with his answer:

RODRIGUEZ: Many of the millennials, Dreamers, undocumented citizens — and I call them citizens because they contribute to this country — are fearful of voting. So if I vote, will immigration know where I live? Will they come for my family and deport us?

OBAMA: Not true. And the reason is, first of all, when you vote, you are a citizen yourself. And there is not a situation where the voting rolls somehow are transferred over and people start investigating, et cetera. The sanctity of the vote is strictly confidential in terms of who you voted for. If you have a family member who maybe is undocumented, then you have an even greater reason to vote.

RODRIGUEZ: This has been a huge fear presented especially during this election.

OBAMA: And the reason that fear is promoted is because they don’t want people voting. People are discouraged from voting and part of what is important for Latino citizens is to make your voice heard, because you’re not just speaking for yourself. You’re speaking for family members, friends, classmates of yours in school…

RODRIGUEZ: Your entire community.

OBAMA: … who may not have a voice. Who can’t legally vote. But they’re counting on you to make sure that you have the courage to make your voice heard.

The last sentence is especially contextually important. Context is important anyway, so the late sentence is what he’s been getting at the whole time-Latinos who can’t legally vote are counting on Latinos who can legally vote to represent them. It couldn’t be any more clear, and it’s not a matter of opinion.

@Smyrna’s video ended the exchange early and by doing so, left out a lot of important information.

Which thread?

The title of this thread has nothing to do with the long personal story the OP contains.
Perhaps “A history of my Unlces marriage ventures” would have drawn in fewer readers.

You are making this up. I mean it’s a nice imagination you have i guess but you have nothing to back this up.

To call Mexicans socialists in such a manner is to call Turks hard core Islamists. Don’t be silly

common knowledge

certain classes of Turks are.

illegals coming up for free stuff… socialists.

The added material doesn’t even budge, let alone change, the context.

We want everyone that is a citizen to vote and not those who have an asterisk next to their citizenship status.

Which is exactly what Obama encouraged when he said:

It couldn’t be more clear.

Thank you, I honestly didn’t realize it was so long until after I submitted it, and I could not find the edit post feature.

That’s a hell of an argument lol. It’s a common assumption

How many Turka are hard core Muslims?

define “hard core”. Erdoğan would like a caliphate if he could pull it off.

Cool. Now how many are border line terrorists. Or let’s go further as a percentage how many Turks are terrorists.

now wait a minute. Many Turks are terrorists. It’s in their blood. They just go nuts sometimes if they don’t have enough to do. But not so many are radical Muslim terrorists.

I forget why this is relevant.

It’s relevant because you have no idea how many of the South Americans, say Salvadorians the ones who are coming over are Sociañists

Now you actually made a point. A good point regarding maturite socialist countries and that may be the Cubans are different. Some may be but again you have no idea how many. All you have are assumptions. That’s about it

ok. so the free cheese people may not be ideologically socialist when they cross the border. But once here -as I said - they will quickly find that they are the beneficiaries of welfare, “safety net” programs. Everything free! How long do you think it takes for a man or woman become a socialist when they are on the receiving end of such an economic ideology?

sweet Jesus. The socialism part is just red herring. Let me rephrase. You have no clue how many of them want freebies and only come here for freebies.
