Apparently, the “reefer madness” mentality is still with us …
“Jack Riley, a former deputy administrator of the DEA, said he had concerns about the proposed change because he thinks marijuana remains a possible “gateway drug,” one that may lead to the use of other drugs.”
And then there is this …
“Critics point out that as a Schedule III drug, marijuana would remain regulated by the DEA. That means the roughly 15,000 cannabis dispensaries in the U.S. would have to register with the DEA like regular pharmacies and fulfill strict reporting requirements, something that they are loath to do and that the DEA is ill equipped to handle.”
The sane way to deal with it is to take it out of the auspices of the DEA entirely and treat it like alcohol.
Freaking hilarious dude!!!
I just called to get my medical card renewed, if I didn’t see a pain mgr I wouldn’t worry about it BUT they want u to have the card. They don’t care that you use, just gotta jump thru hoops. The ither reason is I am looking at a knee replacement in a year or so and after my last one (revision actually) amd a surgeon who only allowed a 5mg vicodin post op…I had my card at that time, I had 2 packs of gummies with me in the hospital, had to stay 5 day’s for post op antibiotics, I wouldn’t have survived.
I had major surgery last July, as I had an intestinal blockage. 9 days in the hospital…all is well now.
They were giving me Dilaudid, strong stuff…but limited it due to how it effects the digestive system…
Gave me Norco once i got home…but was still advised to take the least I can…
When I got home, I used my oil vape pen, it worked great…wish I had that in the hospital…also got my appetite back as well.
Dilaudid doesn’t affect me like most, I have an extremely high tolerance. For example last year I blew a disk in my back, we had bought air show tickets about a year before the show, not cheap general admission but the covered seating, catered lunch, well I was NOT missing this so we went, was in pain all day, wife gave me a couple of her 10mg oxy which barely touched it. When we got home wife took me to the er, Dr saw I was in pain management and asked if I had been with them long, because she wanted to know if I had built up a tolerance, she gave me 8mg morphine, I walked out of the er 15 mins later, pain was tolerable, but, for most they would be out at 4.
I live in pain and had my card but the strains I tried killed my memory which as a student…not good. Also made me anxious, hopefully this time I can find a strain that works better.
Sorry to hear that…hope you find something that helps.
I was rear ended pretty bad a couple years ago…causing moderate sciatica.
Recieved a few spinal injections of cortizone over a few month period…ih helped quite a lot.
It was ONLY money consideration that got it legalized.
Greed won over the BRAINS.
Same with the seat belt law. It was to put MONEY in Insuarance cos pockets.
NOT because anyone cares about a Joe Shmo dying without seat a belt.
Legalizing Pot was NOT because it was a good and smart thing to do.
We have a problem with Alcohol and deaths on the road so let’s ADD another DUI driver to the roads.
Just to let people FEEL good?
You want people to feel good…?
Lay off the stupid and use common sense.
Amsterdam used to be a Pot meka but they learned quickly.
There you can by small dose and smoke it ONLY in their parlor. ONCE a day. And you can’t make the Pot Parlor your permanent address. Few puffs and your ass is outta there.
I agree…
It’s just that USA bypassed them in smoking Pot freedom, is what I am saying.
Here in America MONEY is the force behind ANY change.
In Europe that is not so much the case.
They, for example, still make Medications that CURE something or work the way they’re supposed to work.
Here we have Pharmaceuticals in bed with Government and MONEY and PROFIT is the main moving part.
NOT the well being of a Joe Shmo on the street.
Unless, of course, you’re an Elite or have WEALTH to be close to the cookie jar. Then the whole World is your oyster.
That’s why you have a SCOTUS Justice hag Ginsburg survive 4-5 Cancers for decades and the rest of us DON’T.
