Coronavirus Thread Political II

And we can just hope they pick the right strain each year or it’ll look like 2017-2018 again IF we haven’t reached herd immunity naturally.

Can one of you smart people help me please?
Texas has 32,227 cases and 889 deaths. What’s the death rate?

2.8% I believe

Thank you.

Before we go down this line of discussion, what are your parameters for “dropping like a rock”?

So, do you think politicians who encouraged people to party up at the beginning of the virus should also be charges with murder? Pelosi, Cuomo, DiBlasio…

Looks like the dairy farmers are bottling their own milk and ranchers and meat packers are selling beef.

I’d say approaching 8% and in a few short weeks to 1% or less qualifies. Wouldn’t you?

Lets do go down that road together, please.

I’m definitely game are you?

Good. What the hell is up with that? I understand the demand overall is down, low restaurant demand, hotels, etc, but why are they being asked to cull the herds? Lower the price and get the foods to market. I saw a man at the grocery store give a kidney for some TP and a pound of ground chuck over the weekend.

Ouch… .~!

90 or more of the suffering and death can be directly attributed to their playing stupid partisan games to paint Trump and everyone pointing the finger at China properly as Racists, Xenophobes, and for the almighty tourist dollars NYC and NYS are so dependent on.

They flat out lied repeatedly right up until Mid March encouraging all the behaviors know to spread the virus like wildfire but they of course get a pass.

Now they are padding their numbers by adding all in home deaths and untested deaths due to any cardio/pulmonary causes in order to grab an ever greater share of federal resources and dollars to make up for their own bad judgement and failure to protect the people of the City and State for years essentially blackmailing congress and the administration with those numbers. If the fed’s push back at all they will be painted as the devils for abandoning the City and State in a crisis caused by their own actions and inaction.

Of course you can, that’s just ridiculous.

The best way to protect them is for them to remain in quarantine while the rest of us get exposed and develop immunity.

We can sequester them and those who have to provide direct care for them easily and test them regularly for both the virus itself and immunity.

Well what can I say. I’ve seen people trading their livers one piece at a time for liquor for years. This just cuts out the middleman.

And we get the effect of reducing CCPV deaths by several orders of magnituede if we use the same methodology since studies are showing 20-50x more people have been exposed than previously thought.

Let’s take a ride down this road together please… .

Not even close to 100%. Most years no more than 45-60% IF we pick the right vaccine for the predominant strain or strains.

Even at that we’ve never produced enough vaccine for the entire population since we only average around 30-40% getting vaccinated on any given year.

In 2017-18 we missed badly and had the worst flu season in 40 years as a result.

“Reality” we’ll never get close to 200,000 dead.

This is a total unknown and it’s showing up only in severe/critical cases that were already compromised.

It will take decades to see what if any permanent damage is done.

20% or more, probably closer to 50%.

We’ll see as more studies are done but with the population density, mass transit, length of lag time and half or more cases never even being diagnosed it’s a pretty good bet the numbers are several orders of magnitude higher than originally thought.

NYC’s patient zero could easily hit town in early to Mid Dec and it spread undetected for a very long time before hitting someone at high risk of serious/critical disease or death and if diagnosed simply misdiagnosed as Flu or a Cold.

You can’t possibly show that to be true unless Taiwan implements mass titer testing on a grand scale.

Most people who are infected never show any symptoms at all and only 20% get seriously ill or worse.

“Recovered” not “Recovery”.

The dairy guys were pouring milk on the ground.

Feeder cattle have a shelf life. They can’t afford to feed them forever.
