Seriously? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::nauseated_face::face_vomiting:

Add another 20 to the US count which had several additions today.

How could they cover it up? The story was covered by every news source in the country for more than a week including the name of the ship.

Also Italy has a four percent fatality rate.

This is not terrifying. :flushed:

So again, is this thing really as bad as they say it is???

Governments donā€™t crash their economies quarantine or declare state of emergencies for no reason.

From what I have been able to gather about this virus:

It doesnā€™t affect children/infants like the generic yearly flu does;
It does not have much of an effect on the healthy;
It does have a great effect on the elderly and anyone with an underlying health condition;
It is novel so no one has immunity

I have no idea why you would deduct those numbers. See the current rates of infection/death in Italy and Iran.

What numbers? China hasnā€™t been exactly forthcoming have they. So, neither ā€œyouā€ nor ā€œIā€ know if the numbers are inflated or not.

Until people can get a real grasp on this, there is going to be concern.

Fear of the unknown is much greater than the fear of the known.

The Gaza Strip is one of the most densely populated areas on Earth, is under complete blockade and most of the citizens are food insecure.

Be careful of saying that in public. You may start a stampede. :wink:

The open borders in the EU arenā€™t looking so good these days.

Definitely the Tour since a bunch of teams got sick in UAE. But there is time for those two. I hope the Aussie F1 isnā€™t canceled.

Minor correctionā€¦that it is novel does not mean no one has immunity.

There will be a small percentage of people who will have immunity simply via random chance/natural selection.

Goodness sakes. They eat rhino horns to combat performance issues. Iā€™m simply not going to trust them.

A lot of people will probably die there.

Not so. They can develop immunity. It is novel because no one has immunity.

Because you look for any anomaly and try to understand what is happening there, and remove it when trying to ascertain the real numbers. So when you take out those numbers the virus numbers are not that overwhelming statistically. While Hubei has a death rate of 4.4 percent the rest of China has a death rate of .8 percentā€¦and the rest world has a death rateā€¦I think I said earlier of 1.4 percent. When you have an anomaly you want to look past that abnormality and work past to real numbers and real statistics.

Thatā€™s why?

That is not why it is called NOVEL.

Iā€™m dumb about this, but I though novel was a churched up version of ā€œnewā€?

Exactlyā€¦you are correctā€¦

Cool.
