City of San Jose to Tax Constitutional Right

What other rights should we tax and make people pay for?

Slander and libel penalties are the protected infringements on speech.

You have a collective and individual right to firearms. This doesn’t mean you are absolved of obligations to public safety or of the liability for their misuse.

And what if you don’t carry the insurance? Go to jail? Firearms seized? The more punitive the better!

And is it per firearm per year? I don’t think that’s reasonable. It should be at least $100.

And murder or attempted murder with a firearm aren’t enough?

Ask someone who is arguing that. Good luck, too. Because most of those people are your fellow travelers, you know, the ones who want everyone to pay and increase state power so that ‘parental rights’ are protected from black gay socialist muslim warlocks.

It’s not just a $25 fee either… that’s just to the city. The firearm owners would have to buy liability insurance as well… wonder how much that costs? Thousands a year? They can really make this hurt for the evil firearm owners which is exactly what the left wants. They want to hurt people.

Remember many years ago when then mayor Newsome, started legally allowing gay people to marry?

What happen several years later?

I hope history repeats itself.

Requiring owners of arms to be responsible and liable for them, is not an infringement.

If it is, boy oh boy, there go the arguments for restrictions on depictive child pornography like Lolicon.

Another stupid ass, lib law where only law abiding citizens will comply or now choose not to own a gun as a result, so that more innocent people will be robbed and shot by those thugs who will never comply. Very smart…very smart indeed.

This could go back to the difference between a fine and a tax, as came up in the ACA.

They are checking citizenship, not tire pressure.

Sit this one out.

Is a poll tax legal?

There we go…

After misuse. Not before.

A lot of trolling in this thread.

Forcing someone to pay thousands a year for “liability insurance” isn’t an infringement? Really?

Seizing the firearms and throwing people in jail if the state finds out someone doesn’t have the proper coverage?

Wow, you must really like the police powers being used against those you don’t like.

Where are you coming up with $1000’s of dollars for liability ins.?

It’s not a $25 fee… it’s that plus liability insurance. That figured isn’t specified.

It sure as hell isn’t going to be cheap. It’s designed to be punitive, which what you on the left want.

Then why did you claim 1000’s of dollars?
It will probably be an adder on one’s home insurance, and like any insurance, there will be many factors that will determine the cost.

I doubt it will be 1000’s of dollars…unless one has an arsenal of a crap ton of firearms.

So if someone is a collectors they’re ■■■■■■■ Awesome. Congrats on on the infringement.
