Citing Power Shortage, California Asks Drivers to Stop Charging Electric Cars

@STODR brother you are pissing in the wind trying to debate him. No matter what facts you post he will come up with some off the wall ■■■■■■■■ explanation as to why he is right and you are wrong.

Ok let’s use Media Household Income (from the 2020 census)

CA 78k
TX 63k

Sales tax would be hard to gauge. Property and income tax would be easier.

Income tax

CA - 6%
TX - 0%

CA income left over after income taxes = 73k
TX = 63k

Now let’s do property taxes on a median priced home

CA Median home price = 587k
TX = 187k

CA property tax rate = .73%
TX = 1.8%

Total CA property tax = $4285
Total Tx = $3366

CA Total after Income and Property Tax = $68715
TX = $59634

Let’s look at the mortgage as well…

A mortgage on 587k is about $3100
On 187k is it about $1000.

So now we are at

CA = $28315
TX = $46634

If we take away mortgage (and property tax) and just do rent.

Median rent in CA = $1586
TX = $1082

So if you are a renter… you left over income after income tax and rent is

CA = $53986
TX = $49968

Seems to be better to rent in CA than it is in TX

Hey, you spoke too soon. I brought the facts… look up :wink:

How much does a gallon of gas or milk cost in Ca vs Tx, or a loaf of bread. Pretty sure cost of living is cheaper in Texas which wipes out the small difference of a higher income from Ca. Right now, today, what does a 20oz bottle of Pepsi cost in Ca?

I will make it easier as they often have it a little cheaper if you buy 2.

Lol. Your math is off.

While you are feeling all ‘Green’ and good about yourself for being a responsible caretaker of Planet Earth for buying an electric car, consider the following. This is just one small example of the many fallacies of “green energy.”

“About 20% of cobalt supplied from the DRC comes from artisanal mines where child labour and human rights abuses have been reported. Up to 40,000 children work in extremely dangerous conditions in the mines for meagre income, according to UNICEF.”.

Minimum wage doesn’t mean that is what people are being paid. No 15 an hour minimum in Ohio but Walmart is paying 20 and McD 17.

Children who can’t keep their power lines clean shouldn’t be allowed to play with electricity.

Interesting factoid, electricity doesn’t flow through wires, it’s actually carried by a field outside the wire.

Yes.

I knew that once.

There was a guy in TX who was an electrical engineer who put up metal poles next to the the high power lines going across his property. He powered his property that way. He eventually got sued and lost. He tried to say that he was harvesting electricity that was being lost.

Is it? What is off?

I am sure I forgot something somewhere. I did this quickly

There is a 4K difference when renting in either state.

I am not sure the cost difference of food, fuel, gas and electricity will make up much difference.

Funny how often that happens. :wink:

12 month mortgage is 12 X $3100 37k+ a year. I don’t know what number you started with for your 65k+ final number. But even if you used your starting number 78k - 37k brings it down to 41k without talking taxes for CA. TX 63k - 12k brings it to 51k before taxes. Rent ends up with CA with higher left over income which being small would quickly be eaten up by taxes and cost of essentials such as food, fuel, electricity, water ect.

Ahh yes. You are correct. I edited that post.

For renting it’s about a 4K difference. Or about $333 a month difference.
