The FBI should be involved if there is reason to believe that this is not just a random attack by one person. Perhaps they know more that what appears in media reports.

I still have seen nothing that identifies the shooter.

Back when I helped managing local range…some of those cops scare the hell out of us. To think they were allowed to carry a gun was in itself frighting.

Having a security team in place, volunteer or otherwise is a great idea. So much better than just handing out guns to everyone and hoping for the best.

Well, if you read the link I posted they guy was acting rather shady for some time. Maybe they are thinking terrorist links? or lone wolf? COuld be why the FBI is involved.

That is however just a guess.

Kinnunen also was arrested in September 2016 for possession of an illegal weapon in Linden, New Jersey, after he was found taking pictures outside an oil refinery, according to news reports at the time.

An article on the news website mycentraljersey.com reported that Kinnunen said he was traveling from Texas, was homeless and was taking photos of “interesting sites.”

Yes but remember the anti gunners tell us that having multiple good guys with guns interceding will lead to old west shootouts and dead and bleeding bodies everywhere.

These were not “professionals” either, they were average people who were volunteers protecting their congregation.

Just a great example of why I like training and working with churches/security team members.

I remember being told when our state when constitutional carry with no permits required for concealed carry it was going to be the wild, wild west all over again Blood running in the streets.

I am underwhelmed with what really happened. Nobody can even tell there was a change in law.

The local lib newspaper put out the same BS when we went to permits.

Never happened.

They aren’t letting much out as to why. All I can assume (which is not always a good thing to do) is that he has been scoping out sensitive sites and they are checking for terrorist ties. Could be he was already on their radar due to his past actions.

Until they say for sure, all I can do is speculate.

I smell a rat with the refusal to identify the shooter. You can bet if it was a white supremacist or any right-wing nut job, he would have been identified within an hour.

Look for him to be a minority or a Muslim.

It was a white guy.

Maybe it is SOP for the FBI to investigate these days. I don’t know either but I’d like to find out why.

Ok my bad. More info it was a 71 year old “ reserve deputy sheriff” who in addition to being a firearms instructor teaching others in the congregation, owned a range. It’s been reported he dispatched the killer with one round to the head.

There may be more information has been publicly released. Motive for the shooting is unclear.

Perhaps that is why the FBI is involved.
