Chick-fil-A CEO lays racism on white christians

Christianity in the South has a pretty heavy burden to bear for its perpetuation of slavery and racism.

I’m still waiting to find what specifically in the message the OPer thought was pandering, and what the message should have been instead so as to not be pandering.

It’s all very strange indeed…I’m also waiting for the answer as to how he knows this CEO has nothing to repent for

This is a head scratcher of a thread for sure :man_shrugging:

Insurance is not magic.

:joy: :joy: I’m sorry,WHAT?!!! :joy: :joy:

The fact that you’re laughing only betrays your ignorance. Men like Dabney, Thornwell, and Machen absolutley perpetuated racism and slavery.

Now I’m hungry.

is that an unattributed quote?

the way he shined a black guy’s shoes in some kind of repentance.

who said i said it matters or not?

no it doesnt

no one down there perpetuated slavery

and theres racism everywhere

This didn’t answer the question.

What specifically about the message was pandering?

Pandering carries with it an assumption the panderer was being dishonest.

What part of what Cathy said do you believe was dishonest or fraudulent?

If you don’t know who said that, then that explains quite a bit.

oh yes it did lol

youre just gonna pretend it didnt so you can play offense games

love how you set up your own argument framework, and ask how it doesnt hold

sorry. games wont work here

No it did not.

You essentially accused the CEO of saying something he didn’t believe.

Which part do you think he didn’t believe…and why do you think he didn’t believe it?

What part of his statement was false?

who said i didnt know?

I am guessing you haven’t been in the south?

If you know…you’re playing a silly dodge.

Yeah? You’ve read the leading lights of the day have you? I doubt it.

no one asked me who said it

what am i dodging?

why dont you attribute the quote? it is the rules you know?

well, at least it used to be.
