CDC, We have a problem

I’d be happy to.

I can’t open it. Can you post the results of the DGU survey please.

Here is a link to the 1996 data. It’s available in SAS and ASCII formats. Both of which I can’t access. These formats are used primarily by researchers.

https://www.cdc.gov/brfss/annual_data/annual_1996.htm

I got the link. I can’t open it either. So you don’t know if the DGU data is in there or not, do you?

Kleck does.

So it’s pretty obvious they had access to pdf. Wonder why they didn’t publish it in a file format that the public could open 22 years later?

I know it’s there because the question is included in the survey. Here is the 1996 survey:

Also. If this data isn’t available. How exactly did Kleck access it?

So now the problem is the type of file format and not about it being publicly available? Cool cool cool. The public can, actually, open those formats if they are so inclined.

No you don’t. You know it was on the survey. We haven’t seen the results.

He’s an academic. It’s his job.

If it’s public, why can’t you and I see it?

You’re kidding right? You still don’t know what’s in there.

If it’s available, show us the results of the one question.

I’m assuming ASCII and SAS files require special programs to open and display the data. I can’t see the data because I don’t have access to those programs at the moment.

Are you saying that even though the question was on the survey, CDC didn’t ask the question … or … what exactly?

So … is Kleck lying?

I have no idea, I can’t see it. 22 years later.

You seem to know a little something about this, what are your issues with Kleck’s conclusions?

Have you seen this?

Do you doubt the article in the OP about the number of DGU?

Is he? Is that a false dichotomy?

If it’s available, show us the results of the one question.

If it’s publicly available, why can’t you and I see it?
