First off what Harris/Biden and the Democrats did with the border had nothing to do with immigration. There already exists a plethora of ways to come to the US legally:

Regarding why does it bother me so much? Personally, I believe it should bother everybody that a US Presidential Administration - along with most if not all of the Democrat party - capriciously and intentionally threw open the border to millions upon millions of unvetted phony asylum seekers from all over the world. In this mass of humanity included murderers, rapists, gang members, terrorists, and all other sort of criminal elements. I personally find what they did at the border disgusting. It looks as though the libs here have pretty much gone silent regarding that nothing outside an act of Congress could do anything to deal with the phony asylum seeking at out border. By and large the argument from the Left is that everyone in the world has an unabridged right to come to the US to seek asylum and have their case heard! In their view that right trumps our sovereignty and security whether it be economic or social. And that is how the Harris/Biden Administration treated the border. …

I hear your frustration. I can tell it is sincere. I hate to see another American this frustrated.

My only advice is to try not to let the squealers drive you mad. That is what they want. That is why they are doing it. I’m not saying you should just ignore it, but instead just see those people as the non-people they are. I try to pretend like they don’t exist because they shouldn’t exist (but they do and I am powerless to change that).

I just think it’s more optimistic to know there are a lot of people in this country who (a) you would consider “libs” but (b) were absolutely disgusted by what happened to Kirk. I venture to say the vast majority.

I genuinely don’t think I’m a “lib,” but just as an example, I had to take a walk around my building after (unwittingly) watching the video of the assassination right after it happened. I have zero taste for Kirk but was so disturbed by seeing that happen to him, and knowing what it represented, that I had to physically walk it out. And I continue to think about his kids. A lot. Because I’ve got young kids.

I believe a lot of “independents” or even “center lefts” or whatever you want to call them felt that way. You just won’t see those screenshots because, well, that doesn’t feed the machine.

Nice post, and I agree with you that those that are “dancing over his death” are a small minority of those on the left, a larger subset of the left have been on my FB feed saying “while I don’t agree with killing him, the world is a better place without him”. To me that is almost as despicable.

When did it become ok to say ■■■■ like that? When did our society devolve to where we are today? What happened to the mentality of “while I disagree with what you say, it doesn’t mean we cannot still be friends”. Now it has gotten to the point of "My (insert family/friend) is a Trump supporter, I cannot be associated with them.???

I have an aunt like that, VERY left leaning and my mom is conservative, she has cut my mom out of her life. I have people I went to HS with that refuse to acknowledge my existence simply because I am conservative, and I am more of a centrist than hard core conservative. But since I don’t bow down to the liberal mindset I am "misogynistic, racist, insert your favorite “ist”. It is sad that is the way it is. Honestly it pisses me the ■■■■ off, they don’t care to get to know me, I am automatically “bad”.
