Big News in the WOT but virtual silence in the media

Except it’s not true.

Show it not to be true then if you can.

Your assertion, your job.

You are asserting it isn’t true. Show it not to be.

You are asserting it’s true. Prove it. If you just want to throw out unverified assertions as facts, and when challenged, put the onus on someone else, you’ll have to find someone willing to do your work for you.

You made the assertion it isn’t true, show it not to be.

Here’s a partial list of specific examples

.

ationwide, more than 2 million workers have had a “Trump Bonus” or “Trump Pay Raise” announced as a direct result of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
The Council of Economic Advisers projects that annual income for American households will increase by an average of $4,000.

The standard deduction has nearly doubled for many Americans, with levels now at $12,000 for individuals, $18,000 for single parents, and $24,000 for married couples.
The Child Tax Credit has increased by $1,400 for children under the age of 17.

Middle-income families are no longer forced onto the Alternative Minimum Tax, with the income phase-out level for exemptions increasing to $500,000 for single households, and $1 million for married couples.

As the benefits of tax reform become clearer to businesses, employees across America are receiving raises, bonuses, and increases to their benefits.
Chrysler has announced that the tax reform has so improved the U.S. business climate that, in addition to giving $2,000 bonuses to its U.S. employees, it will move truck production from Mexico back to the U.S., creating 2,500 new American auto manufacturing jobs.

Oh, median family income rising.

Now, show as you asserted that any of the above as I stated to be false.

Yes, he really is stupid to be publicly admitting it.

Even more stupid though is the allegation he withheld money from employees pay checks for taxes, but instead of sending it to the IRS, he supposedly put it in his own bank account. How long did he think he could keep that up before someone noticed?

Disbarment and spending time in jail could very well be in his future.

According to the articles he’s facing at least fifty lawsuits and has moret han a dozen tax warrants out naming him as well.

Add this to it? I don’t think it’s as much about stupidity as arrogance and being caught up in his own celebrity.

Yeah, could be. I just hope this guys 15 minutes are about up now.

Wonder how Don Lemon and the other “journalists” from CNN enjoyed partying with him?

No kidding. If CNN had any credibility as a news organization they’d fire everyone involved that’s been mentioned so far.

I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t end up in some kind of serious legal trouble.

Anyway, this thread has gone way off the original topic. :grinning:

Oh I’d say he’s already there. The only question is what it’s all going to cost him in terms of dollars, time behind bars, and of course his ability to practice law in the future.

Most on the left go on about Fox all the time, but neglect to admit CNN is just as bad in the other direction.

There is no question Fox is Trump and Republican friendly, but even that network has Shep Smith and Bret Baier, neither of whom I’d call biased. Shep is a liberal, and Bret is very fair.

But aside from Jake Tapper, CNN is total garbage these days.

I really don’t care much about MSNBC, because they at least have always been honest about being left wing. But CNN claims to be “the most trusted name in news” and has condescending ads about “this is an apple, but some people would call it a banana” and yet nearly everyone involved in that network are left wing activists for the DNC.

Shep is the token left wingnut. Baer is an excellent journalist and a very good guy.

Well we shall see.

I don’t watch any cable news anymore, but it’s easy to find out what’s been happening from reading blogs and twitter.

I agree about Baer, he could get a job anywhere.

He may find a way out of all of it but he’s definitely in the fight of his life right now.

Well he should be. That IRS story is just bizarre. I feel sorry for his employees who were duped, thinking taxes were being withheld for the IRS, but he allegedly was keeping the money for himself.

I watch more weather channel than anything. A lot of my investments are highly weather dependent.

I try to catch Baer’s show and Tucker Carlson regularly though. I disagree with Tucker a lot and think he’s a bit whacked on some of his ideas but I love his style and he doesn’t let anyone take over and start filibustering unchallenged. He also won’t let anyone get away without answering questions or let them sidetrack the discussion.
