Do you think all interest in Russian history and culture just stopped as soon as the USSR started?
Do you think its impossible to be interested in Soviet history and culture without being a communist or communist sympathizer? What about someone interested in how they implemented/evolved socialism but doesn’t support the communist/violent revolution/Stalinist side of things?
A lot of folks here suffer from CDS. Its like assuming anyone interested in visiting the US or appreciating its history or culture supports slavery.
