Are you willing to alter your lives after this is over?

That things like this are said tells me the coming gaslighting effort is going to be a huge success.

According to who?

Iā€™ve been working for a living for 25 years, and so far - the best paying job Iā€™ve ever had was waiting tables.

Good lord, I canā€™t wait until that cliche has run itā€™s course. Ugh! :grimacing:

As long as those who believe they are the heirs to free thinking are actually the ones most prone to accept the current system as the only way it can ever beā€¦there will be gaslighting specialists to encourage them to believe it.

Then you have chosen to take a profession that generally does not offer great benefits. If you want great benefits then most people must do something outside of the service industry.

Right, but you forgot to say ā€œat the end of the day.ā€ Maybe thatā€™s just a strawman?

I think youā€™re rather disconnected with the job market as it exists today.

School isnā€™t about choosing a profession. It hasnā€™t been for decades.

At the end of what day?

Nope. A lot will certainly re-examine what theyā€™ve been told their whole lives about capitalism though. And vote accordingly.

If he knew how many people voluntarily choose to remain I the service industry even once they wrap up a business degree or whatever heā€™d lose his mind.

Itā€™s adorably naive that they think people finding out that most middle managers are completely unnecessary but stock boys and cashiers will literally cause civilization to collapse if they refused to work wonā€™t have an effect on the future of this country.

Same here.

Personal awareness equals personal responsibility. Hasnā€™t it always?

On retrospect, I realized this needs some clarification.

I made a lot of money at my last server job. Because of the unique aspects of my job, we were union (unheard of!), and had a great benefits package.

Alot of welders lost their healthcare in 08. Thankfully construction and manufacturing are essential. Its tough when their is a national emergency and your healthcare can be at risk because you lose your job.

We are worried about the health of our economy when our supply chains are disrupted because of overseas manufacturing, as we should be.

We should also be concerned when people are afraid to see a doctor because of costs.

When I put my notice in, for my last server job - so I could move across the country to enroll in law school - many of my co-workers were baffled by my decision.

One of the main reasons that Democrats won big in 2018 was that they talked about health care. And polls showed that in quite a few areas of the country it is the number one issue for voters. I think that the level of discussion will be increased quite a bit after all of this. And where is Trump? He says that you have to re-elect him and then we will find out about his health care for all at hardly any cost plan. And I donā€™t see where that deal is going to fly with a lot of voters.

We all look like Muslim women in burkas, just showing our eyes.

Public sector?

We arenā€™t sick.
