Are democrats willing to sacrifice their queen Nancy Pelosi

There is no way this is some ulterior gambit to win Senate seats. Maybe this affects the race with Susan Collins or McSally and could help the Dems but Impeachment doesn’t play well in Alabama where Doug Jones could easily lose over this, or in West Virginia with Manchin.

This might be a shocker but the Dems are impeaching because it’s the right thing to do- even if it causes political losses.

No president should be able to go after their political opponents by soliciting foreign governments for help. Pretty straightforward.

Has a full floor vote on articles of impeachment been scheduled?

Right now the only thing libs/democrats care about is stopping Trump from stacking the courts. Even if they have to sack the house to do so.

That’s what I’m seeing ATM.

And thus why republicans most tread lightly if impeachment is kicked to the senate. Don’t give democrats anything to campaign on.

The search for an ulterior motive is unnecessary.

A majority of Americans disapprove of Trump’s performance as President. The large majority of our allies around the world are dismayed at American abandoning the values that have made it the country others aspire to be like.

The Democrats are sending a strong signal that Americas core values still matter outside of Trump’s base and that standing for values may be more important than winning an election or two… or might even lead to more victories.

I know you will scoff at this assessment, because you have to believe that those you loathe are at least as cynical as those you follow… but that’s it.

At a practical level, a real trial in the Senate leading to acquittal by a unanimous Republican caucus will probably cost the Republicans the Senate. If the House were even in play, you would not be seeing the mass exodus of Republican incumbents. Anyone who claims to know the outcome of the 2020 Presidential election today… is blowing smoke.

IMHO here is what is going to happen.
The articles of impeachment will include Trump asking a foreign government to do him a favor and get involved in our election. It is obvious that the Republicans are going to maintain their position that no wrong doing was present. It will then be left to the public to determine who is correct. But the articles will also include many instances of obstruction of Congress. And the Republicans are going to have a difficult time refuting that. The House will impeach Trump and he will always be branded as one of three POTUS who was impeached. And what can the Republicans say? As of now, they have nothing. They have not once challenged the facts and simply revert to process arguments.
So then it goes on to the Senate where by all accounts Trump will be acquitted. What do the Democrats gain? They put every Republican Congressman and Senator on record backing Trump.
Now maybe you don’t recognize it, but Trump does not have over 50% of the electorate on his side. Far from it. And at some point I believe that he will be gone and his control over the party will be poof. And then Republicans will have a decision to make. Because I believe that staying on the Trump course of politics will be the death blow to anyone foolish enough to go down that road. And unless Republican Congressmen and Senators are in solid red districts and states there could be a huge shift of power in both houses towards the Democrats.
And if in the next months Trump appears to be a liability that will cause a loss of seats you will see the Republican leadership turn on him in a heartbeat. And right now the state polls are showing that Trump doesn’t have the juice in many districts that he had in 2016. Film at eleven.

Nancy said they will go to a vote. So will see.

Check on YouTube. She is not the Nancy 20 years ago. So what’s a better opportunity to sack her for the senate.

So no floor vote has been scheduled? Sounds like you might be being played… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

OK you run with that…that democrats are doing the right thing.

The Democrats are not going to lose the House in 2020. The Republicans didn’t lose the House during the impeachment of Clinton, and Clinton was more popular than Trump. The Republicans didn’t lose the House in 2012 when Obama was re-elected. The Democrats recently taking control of the Virginia State Legislature is more evidence that the Democrats will maintain control of the House next year.

What do you base this opinion on?

Yeah the House is out of play. There is about a 2 percent chance of Dems retaking the Senate. This ain’t about congresional politics.

Yep, this is about fat donald’s corruption and abuse of power.

It makes no sense if you believe that no politician actually cares about upholding the law and the Constitution. Years of voting Republican will do that to ya.

Every vote by GOP Senators for “not guilty” for Trumps use of taxpayer money as a condition of helping his reelection campaign will be something the DEMs run on.

I bet you McConnell flipping hate this because it buts his Senators on the record. He didn’t want them on the record with the Garland vote so unconstitutionally kept the Senate from voting. He doesn’t want them on record going into 2020, but this time he has no choice.

Speaking of 52, Rasmussen latest poll has Trump approval rating at 52%

The RCP Average now has Trump at 43.8%. Link
While Trump will likely lose the nationwide popular vote again, I give him about a 50% chance of winning the Electoral College again.

Are you going to deny it?

Guess who they learned that neat trick from? None other than Mitch McConnell.

The GOP hasn’t been too bright of late. Nominating Trump, setting precedent on leaving SC seats open … got to wonder what the hell they’ve been thinking - particularly since that latter one may very well turn against them and bite them in the ass soon.

Really?

The way I see it…if one republican senate vote yes, libs will claim bipartisan support of impeachment.

As for your commons that Trump used taxpayers money…you have yet to prove that.

I have to prove that Congress approved $391 Million in aid to Ukraine that Trump attempted to withhold and only approved it after the wistleblower complaint because public knowledge???

Have a nice day.
