I think he’s talking about the whoosh of the bullet itself, not the sound of the gunshot itself. At least that’s how I took the statement.
That was something that really captivated me in “Saving Private Ryan” : The sounds of the bullets whizzing and striking without the accompanying sound of the gunshots themselves.
Unless you’re way the hell downrange the bullet is traveling at supersonic speed which means it’s already past you before you hear it in most cases.
Private Ryan was a great movie, but it was just a movie.
Why didn’t AR-15 owners take on the government when the Patriot Act was pushed thru?

Yup. Things could really get worse if the people are disarmed, just as they are in communist China, Socialist Cuba, and Venezuela.
Our wise Founding Fathers intended ordinary citizens to keep and bear arms [a contemporary fire arm used by foot soldiers] so they would be ready and able to defend themselves against a despotic government if necessary. The AR-15-semi is a civilian version of the United States military’s M16, and ought to be kept by ordinary citizens to defend against a tyrannical government if necessary.

The right to keep and bear is specifically intended to maintain an armed citizenry capable to defend itself against a despotic government, and/or, domestic enemies who may rise in rebellion against our written Constitution.
This is was not a random mass shooting, this was a possible robbery/trespassing/home invasion gone wrong by three masked teens with guns of their own and according to this impassioned description of what happened it appears the teenagers fired their weapon first before the homeowners AR-15 was discharged. It’s a tragedy for sure but very misleading to call it a mass shooting because based on the witness statement it’s a clear case of self defense.
I find it disturbing that the witness said his male neighbor was only home about once a month and leads me to suspect the house was cased and the teens knew that likely it would be a single elderly female alone in the house. We don’t know which homeowner fired their defense weapon but I hope it was the elderly female and her son taught her how to defend herself.
And as far as Beto is concerned, he can go pound sand!

In fairness there’s a high likelihood that these three guys had no fathers in their lives and probably had little to no family structure at home. At this point the damage was done in regards to the parents.
What he was talking about was creating a program similar to many big cities. After school programs. A place where these guys can go to stay off the streets.
This doesn’t qualify as a mass shooting. How many innocent victims were killed?
The guy in the video mentioned “softer sounding” gunfire towards the house behind him. I saw that as him hearing the sound waves traveling in the same direction of his house.
When the victim fired back with his rifle, the direction would’ve been away from him, making a deeper, “louder” sound (with more echo also traveling in his direction).
That’s also merely assuming there was a linear direction to the shootout.
So you are, how sad!

Yeah, if they had ended later, the homeowner would have been dead. And probably his mother. Much better outcome.
