At this point no its not. It’s putting the genie back in the bottle.

Here is the article stating you can be a carrier regardless of being vaccinated.
By the end of year it will be at least 2 million.
No one has disputed that you cant be a carrier after the vaccine…
If anything that is even more a reason for folks to get vaccinated
Yes they are. People believe just because you have the vaccine it somehow stops the spread. You are still a carrier. And you still might get sick. We are hopeful those numbers will go down.
People believe alot of things, like the vaccine is mind control, or it gets you magnetized…
The fact is you are correct you can be a carrier even after getting the vaccine…again that is even more of a reason to get vaccinated
Right. Being a carrier is what I am driving at. At this point and why I am directing it at the poster I referenced was because of his last sentence. Its wrong to think that.
(S)he’s talking not about an individual, at least IMHO.
The comment is about populations not individuals in that the large number of unvaccinated people are perpetuating the pandemic because they prevent the US (as a population) reaching the heard immunity threshold. If we can get to that 80-90% vaccination rate, which allows for some people that can’t take the vaccine because of health issues, then herd immunity starts to become a factor. So if that “carrier” that received the vaccine and still got COVID and is asymptomatic, doesn’t have much impact because herd immunity limits it’s spread.
On the other hand with the large percentage of unvaccinated that exist, then COVID can spread whether it’s through the unvaccinated or the asymptomatic “carrier” who has COVID with no external indicators.

Denial is a river in Egypt.

You carry less of the virus.
From your article…
It’s important to note, however, that vaccinated people who get infected have significantly less viral load in their nasopharynx, Fauci said.

You are a carrier. Doesn’t matter. Maybe stop with being so political? Just like the flu. Yoh can still be a carrier.
The point is being vaccinated vs unvaccinated in fhis early stage. We don’t need posters trying to shame people into getting vaccinated.
Maybe read more and then comment? Or maybe stop cutting quotes to suit your needs. Just a thought.
Sure we do.
If you don’t have a health problem preventing you from getting the vaccine, you(c) should be ashamed of being a danger to yourself and other be possibly spreading a deadly disease.
It’s one thing to talk about the January/February time frame with vaccines just rolling out and available vaccine doses going to first responders and high risk people compared to now when vaccines are widely available and people are refusing to take a vaccine which could stop of the disease from spreading.
If you are not getting a vaccine as a means of putting a thumb in the eye of DEMs, you(c) should be ashamed.

You still are a carrier. Plain and simple. I thought you were smarter than that. Whether you are vaccinated or not doesn’t take away that.
Transmissibility is an order of magnitude lower in the vaccinated population. Viral load in the nasopharyngeal cavity is barely detectable in the breakthrough cases studied vs. unvaccinated and infected Delta patients which exhibit viral loads 1200 times the number seen in the “wild”, or original COVID virus.
They are not the problem, and not the reason cases are going up. It is the unvaccinated, full stop.
I don’t know about shaming, but we all should be doing whatever we can to et more people vaccinated.
Speaking with people, directing them to reliable information, sharing data…
Yeah, but you are less likely to transmit it because of the signifigantly lower viral load.
I think we are just about out of carrots. Things are going to get interesting now. The VA is the first federal organization to mandate vaccination for all its health care employees and the AMA came out with a joint paper calling for all health care workers nationwide to be vaccinated.
I think patience and explanation are nearing an end, and we are getting closer to consequences.
Personally? I think the GOP has it right that the TSA should start allowing flights without masks. It is just that the TSA should also require proof of vaccination from this point on. That would get a lot of folks to vaccinate right there.
You can explain that to the patients who we just saw fhjs weekend. They are fully vaccinated about to be intubated. Its admirable for you to come on here and try and defend your girlfriends. But it won’t help the patients who have done everything they can and likely will still die.
