An Iconic Magazine Closes It's Doors

I was going to mention the fat girl fetish they went through a few years back. They quit targeting their customers. What’d they expect?

There was more to SI than bikini pics.

Fangoria relaunched itself as a 4 issue per year magazine with High quality pages and print. i wonder if SI will go this route.

I don’t care.

A world that waited a month for sports news…what was it like?

I don’t know. That’s not what SI was.

This is what Sports Illustrated was.

Quality writers and photography on a national scale providing in depth analysis and perspective of the best athletes.

Pittsburgh legend Myron Cope wrote for SI and would be disappointed to see it’s demise.

Hmm Hah.

Today HBO has taken that role.

Than sexual freaks shouldn’t have started it…

Are you trans?

it served its purpose with the calendars when i was in college.

ahem. .

To objectify women. Thats the answer. Market to men who like to see a little skin from time to time.

They seem to have taken the route of a Vegan magazine that used to have a joy of tofu yearly issue that started slipping in an Omaha Steaks issue.

Yes it was. SI changed to a monthly.

Does that work in the other direction? Does being outwardly Conservative hurt a business as well?

Sure. Depends on the market audience.

Sure if you’re catering to sexual freaks and other forms of perversion.

But if you’re catering to straight males expect to be dropped.

Can’t have it both ways.
