An election prediction I believe most/all will agree with

Totally partisan take:

If Trump loses and fails to reverse the election, I guess it’s possible that the GOP sticks with him and he runs again in 2028. Very unlikely, given his legal troubles and electoral failures. If they want to tunnel deeper into that squalid rabbit hole, great: This version of the party has no way to go but down.

But I hope the Republicans try to move on.

Do they understand him at all? Does anyone think he’ll say, “Well, the people have spoken. It’s been a privilege to represent the Republican Party. I shall gracefully bow out”? Trump’s body is where magnanimity goes to die. Viscerally, he cannot sit with loss.

So he’s going to need scapegoats, and if the GOP goes cold on him and starts to disengage, Trump’s stubby finger will be pointed in the right’s direction. RINOs. Some other subset. Whatever. He doesn’t give a ■■■■ about the Republican Party, except as it serves him. And it’s been a good resource with his daughter co-chairing it. He will absolutely expect GOP support to continue throughout his various trials.

If Republicans try to pivot from him, he’s going to feel insulted and subordinated. After all I did for the party? Got Roe overturned? Showed them how to win? Beautiful tax cuts? Two assassination attempts? No one ever did more for the Republicans. The Party was dead. I saved it. It will fail without me.

Then, he’ll spend every calorie of his energy trying to undermine any successor.

How many MAGA ride or die supporters does he need to keep to ■■■■ over the GOP? How much chaos can he create with lies, lawsuits, crazy personal attacks, grifts, and the rest of his cheesy moves? What kind of shady bad actors will be funding him? Best case: He killdozes the party. The earth gets salted.

Obviously, some other coalition could coalesce into another opposition party, as the Republicans or another name. To return to the claim in the OP, I don’t want a one-party state; I just want something approximating a one-shared-empirical-reality state.

Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk, which also describes the only present on my Xmas list.

Oh look another middle class basher. That you Mark Cuban?

Most middle class people I know are pretty well educated. Not sure where you got that weird characterization from.

We have one party that believes in our democratic republic, and one party that wants oligarch’s to be in charge.

Look at what they vote for and support, not what they say,

One party supports Citizens United case, which enables oligarchs
One party that is fine with gerrymandering, making it harder to vote.
One party that wants to regulate better, to break up monopolies
One party that is fine with the bribing member of congress and the Courts (especially the SCOTUS.

Billionaires are supporting Pubs 3-1 They know who will take care of them

The Dems are far from perfect…but they are not the same as Pubs

And which party anointed there candidate?

That was a unique situation.

I never said Dems were perfect. Far better than Pubs…since Y’all have given up on our democratic republic. Pubs will just let the oligarchs run everything… Screw the people.

You’re the one who made the gratuitous assertion “Trump loves the poorly educated “.
You received an equally reciprocal gratuitous response.
Now, your turn to give us examples of your “weird” assertion.
We’ll wait.

Plus, won’t he be almost 90?

I agree—it’s weird and unlikely. But if Trump loses, and the GOP tries to move on, it’s going to be one ugly-ass divorce.

Plus the fact that he will be in prison…

You don’t know what gerrymandering is. It doesn’t make it “harder to vote.”

Sounds a lot like what people were spouting when biden got elected. Remember how we all needed a nap and biden was a moderate and would work with both parties.
We remember how that worked out biden went hard left and attacked half the country.
I think things will mellow out when the democrats eventually get some moderates back in their party instead of just electing hard leftist. The division we see now is because to the Obama/Bush era. Middle america finally got tired of the people they elected bowing to the democrats just to keep peace and never fighting for what the middle of america saw as important.

Your only problem is trump has already stated that he is not running again no matter how the election turns out. Along with the fact that maga is not going to die no matter who is the candidate for the GOP. Maga has made the GOP the big tent party. While the democrats have become the small tent party.
Now how long are you going to support far leftist and leave no room for dissent in the democrat party. Manchin the lone blue dog has now been driven out. The democrat party has been a party of extremist where anyone even a member of their own party is the enemy if they don’t tow the prog line.

Well educated does not mean smart.

Get a new line.
Your party wants to stack the court and add a few states and gerrymander districts so they will always have the Presidentcy.
Your party wants to eliminate the EC so rural voters don’t have a vote.
Your party uses the federal government to bribe voters into electing them.
Your party wants to censor voices and only allow their approved talking points to be heard.
We have one party that wants to tell people what they can eat, what they can drive, what they can buy and where they can educate their children.
We have one party that no longer supports women and now supports fake women.
Out of 22 billionaires 13 gave to the democrat party that is over half.
We have one party that is locking up those that disagree with them. We have one party that wants an oligarch to be in charge. We have one party that runs to the center to campaign and lies to the voters to get elected. And the party would be the democrat party.
The democrats have become a danger to the country. And the country is not going to heal until the democrat party brings back the sane moderate blue dogs.

He also said that if he lost in 2020, he’d go away.

He lost; it took him years to admit it publicly, but he knows he lost.

Yet, here we are. Literally everything he says, with the possible exception of things he says while bragging about himself, is provisional and subject to change.

I bet Trump will resent whoever the GOP tries to replace him with. This will cause problems for the party.
