I agree it needs to be continued but with a much more structured approach and no grand claims that do not survive scrutiny.
Part of the structure needs to be oversight but oversight that works in an agile way. No months and months of delay while identified potential savings are pontificated over.
However it does seem that DOGE was a flavor of the month initiative.
There has been success, and I welcome any savings but far far below the $1-2 trillion that Musk and Trump boasted.
DOGE works as an outside agency or independent commision. It would not work as a fixture in the executive as it would just become another arm of the OMB
Tell that to the 1000’s of electricians and other skilled tradesmen and their suppliers that are now not working with the cancellation of many of those projects.
Anyone living in rural areas can thank the government (Fed /State) for providing electricity decades ago. Biden was doing the same with broadband internet. Those programs were probably killed as well by Trump. Winning!
Foreign-born workers have given up net 543,000 jobs.
Native born workers have gained net 2 million jobs.
On net — EVERY SINGLE JOB CREATED (over 1.5 million) has gone to a native born American!
If you want to tell something to the 1000’s of electricians and other skilled tradesmen … your gonna have to swing by ther job site to do it cause, THAT is where you’ll find them.
The most recent data available indicates that foreign-born workers held 17.9% of jobs in 2023, while making up 16.8% of the working-age population, according to USAFacts. This doesn’t mean they “gave up” 543,000 jobs.
When Trump killed a lot the green jobs, that put a lot electricians out of work.
My God man…will you just stop. Right now for every 7,000 electrician that learning the trade, 10,000 are retiring. As of now, 75 thousand electricians are needed.
People shouldn’t be talking about things that they have no clue…specially when all they do is parroting wrong left-wing talking points.
Oh…and with all these data centers popping up for AI…we’re going to need lot more. Not just data centers but entire lines to be to updated.
It was called the “Reform Party” although it made no pretense of being an actual poltical party, it was mostly just a better way of getting his name on the ballot.
Nonetheless it had an official leadership structure, ran a handful of candidates both when Perot ran, and in other years.
The Reform party’s second most famous dude was Jesse Ventura.
—> Still, it made no pretense of being a real forever political party.
You’re jumping the gun here, my friend, and you’re wrong.
I applouded Musk for his Science and work on DOGE contributions, which I still do.
Once he threw a fit over Trumps decision on budget, which he had NO bussiness doing, and once he ’ retaliated ’ by spredding nasty rumors, I mean REALY nasty stuff…I then voiced my dislike of that.
There is a difference in not liking a person and not liking his behaviour.
One is never married to a certain/specific reaction to someone’s behaviour.
We approve a good deed and dissapprove a bad one when it happens.
It does NOT mean that we did away with still praising the GOOD deeds Musk did in the past.
I am with you on that one.
My feeling was that 2 strong and 2 mucho personalities who, rightfuly so, have a lot to be proud off, would have hard time staying together for a long time.
Both of them would have an urge to top the other.
In this case Musk threw a fit FIRST.
And Trumps acted correctly by NOT letting him lead him by the nose and NOT also closing that door completely and unnecessarely like Musk stupidly did.
