Yâall may find this hard to believe but I donât ever read his tweets unless someoneâs put it in here. I get it, people use a crisis to bludgeon their enemies. That doesnât help real people figure out next weeks bills. Other governors didnât add two months. This went from two weeks, to two months, to as much as five months. I wish people would just step off partisan crap for a minute. Itâll be here when you get back.
Do you believe 2 added months for Oregon is appropriate?
Oh just wait, theyâre making a Brave New World film, soon internet message boards will be filled up with failed references to that like there are for 1984.
Sorry I am going to blame Cuomo and DeBlasio in early March for them telling New Yorkers that everything was all right more than I am going to blame âa lack of federal guidanceâ.
The same information that was available to the FedsâŚthat our test and trace strategy had run aground from the beginningâŚthat cases could explode from small numbers very fast and we were flying blindâŚwas available to all of us by early March.
Iâm not going to blame the Feds for the utter mismanagement of the NY subway system that we now have strong indications that it was a major disease spreading vector in the city.
The Feds had their failuresâŚthe states didnât need to wait for the Feds to act.
I donât believe itâs a myth, the sociological damage has devastating long term impact on people of their health. It will effect people long after this virus fades. To say otherwise would be naive.
There are studies that suggest this is in fact not true.
It sounds like it should be, but thereâs little evidence for it actually happening.
NowâŚit is quite possible in this day and age, where the economy has grown more complex and globally interconnected than it was even in the days of the Depression that it might be different this time.
Iâm quite ready to once again try and have a rational discussion on this matter.
But in a thread populated with people who descry this as a Giant Liberal Plot To Enslave AmericaâŚsuch a rational discussion wonât even get off the ground.
Fauci was the conduit for the nationâs medical expertise at the beginning of a worldwide pandemic advising the president on what to expect medically and what should save the most lives medically. You seem to be arguing Trump had the authority to overrule Fauci and therefore it would have been a better strategy at that time to have gone with his own intuition and to have ignored that medical expertise in the early stages of the pandemic.
I disagree. During the housing crisis I taken risk to earn a living. Most of my retirement saving that I was building up went bye bye during my peak earning period. That alone may have take 5 or more years off my life, not to mention my body. Instead of hiring young strong bodies I did it myselfâŚthous ended up getting hurt myself.
We have âsomeâ thinks Obama have dug us out of great recession. But those earning opportunities didnât come back until around 2014âŚ5 plus years or half decade later.
Thatâs like taken away 5 plus years of you peak earning years/period that one has during his only lifetime. And thatâs just tip of long term effect it has on economy.
You seem to be arguing Trump had the authority to overrule Fauci and therefore it would have been a better strategy at that time to have gone with his own intuition and to have ignored that medical expertise in the early stages of the pandemic.
Pretty much. Theyâve been going down this path for a while now. I actually tried to work to counter that from within for years. Once they nominated Trump, I knew they had reached the point of no return. They can have their pretend conservative party.
