I literally answered it. Where do premiums come from for the for-profit, private insurance right now? Deductions from people’s paychecks, from employer contributions, and/or ACH payments for individual market plans. So, a portion of the money that would otherwise go to private plans would go towards the Medicare for All system. I didn’t think it’d be that hard to grasp, but apparently it is.
And if we want to use the study that Cruz and Trump like to cite, we do know how much it would cost. The entire Medicare for All system would cost $2 trillion less than our current status quo ($32 trillion vs $34 trillion).

No, the 162 million who are in the ■■■■■■■ labor force, in addition those those who have the means who aren’t in the labor force, will be paying for it. It’s as if you think the people who are currently paying in to the for-profit, private insurance system are no longer going to contribute. It makes no sense.

i’m gonna argue about one thing…
the private insurance companies are in business to do one thing. make money. lots of money. enough to buy strip malls and yachts and mansions.
one way they achieve that goal is to deny as many claims as possible. they factor in how many people can die and their exposure to lawsuits and make sure it’s just an expense that doesn’t affect them too much. it’s why many have teams of sleazy lawyers.
medicare, and correct me if i’m wrong, doesn’t have the same model of denying every claim humanly possible (although i’m sure it’s some) and so the cost of claims will probably be higher.
if that’s all true, medicare will be more expensive to taxpayers than for profit insurance companies. i do realize that we shouldn’t except insurance companies that let people die or deny treatments to show an extra point or two in net profit.
