Alcohol Detection Systems Will Now Be Mandatory In All New Vehicles

For good reason. Have you seen the penalty for a first time DUI over there?

No enumerated power for the regulation.

When has that stopped the feds from nanny governing.

That is definitely part of it.

But some states here it’s pretty stiff too…

As it should be really.

The lower limit of blood alcohol in Sweden, for example, is 0.02% (compared to our 0.08%.) The penalty is tens of thousands of Krona in fines and up to 6 month in prison. A bal of 0.1% can get you up to 2 years in prison. NO State comes anywhere close to that.

The only thing tempting about newer cars is lane centering and adaptive cruise control. But they can both be added after market.

That would interfere with the legal marijuana cash cow states legalized.

It sounds like everyone will also own an “old” vehicle too. :sunglasses: :tumbler_glass:

Yup, everyone will have a <2026 bar car for special occasions.:tumbler_glass::cocktail::sunglasses:

I know I would. If I play golf with buddies and have one beer after a round… I’ll still want to be able to drive home.

A round, or each round?

After my round of golf… not going to sit there and do rounds of drinks after getting into the clubhouse. Just a beer to drink while settling bets.

What if I rinsed with listerine right before I got into my car… will I be able to drive?

why i think there’s something here that the left and non-left both hate

makes one wonder how this got into the bill…

Blow up a ballon before stepping into the tavern and blow it into the breathalyzer when you leave.

I suppose you can’t have too many to do that either.

The drinking age in the US is 21, while most of Europe has a drinking age between 16 and 18.

Clearly the higher drinking age is increasing problems with drunk driving.
