I read an analysis that the ATC informed the helicopter of the plane, but it appeared the helicopter spotted a different plane taking off and thought it was the one ACT mentioned.
That crossed my mind as did a plethora of other possibilities. It could come down to human error.
The investigation will find out what happened and steps will be taken to ensure this exact situation cannot reoccur.
No comfort to the families but every air disaster does ultimately make air travel just that bit safer.

I still donât understand why low level cross traffic was even allowed through the final approach path. That airliner was under 2000 ft, Nothing should be making a low level crossing through the final approach, or initial take-off paths of an active runway at any major airport.

You ought to listen to the video in your link. Trump lists the specific disabilities that the prior administration considered âunder-representedâ in the FAA and sought to rectify. Many of them are not conducive to air traffic control.
I think Trump was callous to use this presser to make the point he was making. But the point is valid.

Not saying it was, nor am I saying Trump was in the right IF that is what was said. Have a massive distrust of the media. So I will wait on that.

Of course, but maybe the person with arguably the biggest mouthpiece in the world might want to wait until they are done dragging bodies out of the water before conjecturing it was due to something he used as an applause line during the campaign.

We should know the true cause regardless of what it is.
Trump could have shown some leadership by saying he will ensure the cause of the crash will be determined, talked about how we have the best air crash investigators in the world and reiterated how safe air travel is instead of pontificating what caused the crash while they still recovering bodies.

I get that and to a degree your right but blaming DEI is not helpful and does nothing to reassure Americans that our skies are safe. That is what Trump should have been doing and he did the exact opposite.
But he knows exactly what he is doing and how to fire up his supporters.
And if he is saying this to troll his opponents then shame on him.
Your right but does that not mean we should do better in holding our politicians accountable when they act like this?
Trump had the opportunity to show leadership in the face of a real tragedy and he failed.
I get that for many Trump supporters its impossible to consider he might have screwed up but its possible to be critical of something he does and still be a Trump supporter.

I was wondering how long it would take before the thread became all about Trump.
Trump was being Trump in the briefing. It was inevitable that he would have said something controversial. Thatâs who he is. He wonât change.
Right on cue, the MSM jumped on it and naturally LIB forum members did the same.
When are they going to learn to simply let that kind of controversy roll off their thin skins and simply move on.
