Acosta's press pass returned by a judge

There is no rule against being unruly, rude, disruptive or inconsiderate in the press room.

If there was such a rule, the President would have violated it every day.

That’s irrelevant. At some point, a reporter can be seen to be rude, inconsiderate, abusive in tone and disruptive. So who makes the call, that the person’s press pass be revoked? Is there some federal statute that dictates the legal recourse involved, for the White House to deny or approve an individual’s press pass?

I don’t know…then that gives people a story line - WH afraid to call on CNN reporter…

The Whitehouse still has control. The room only seats a certain number of people. They can give those seats to people other than Acosta. A judge can restore a press pass but he cannot micro manage who gets invited in.

Making insults and ridiculing those whose views don’t mirror your own is okay but only if you’re using a broad-brush? Weird

There is no rule against being rude. Therefore, being rude is not grounds for having a pass revoked. Creating a new rule out of thin air to use as a weapon against political opponents is a violation of due process.

If you dislike ridicule, perhaps you should stop calling wacky conspiracy theories “views on the issues”

What a weird excuse for lying.

Just because he has a press pass does not mean he gets a seat at a presser. They are free to move him to the back of the line.

That’s not how the press room works. The White House doesn’t control who gets to sit in there.

Each network/paper/media outlet has an assigned seat. The senior correspondent from each entity usually gets the seat.

Nope, they’re not. The seats are assigned.

Assigned by who?

Obviously Trump was not afraid, since he does call on reporters he knows to be hostile to him.

The point is, if a president is allotting a certain period of time for a press conference, and one of the reporters refuses to share the mic, and seems to want to filibuster the conference. At what point is the white House able to take actions to prevent the reporter from causing future acts like this?

Does the White House have to obtain permission from a circuit court judge before suspending a disruptive reporters press pass?

By their employer.

Victory? America rejected Trump and Trumpism by a substantial majority. He ensured the Democrats had their greatest Congressional success in over 40+ years. But I’m glad you’re enjoying the fact America stood up and said NO to Trump and what he is.

The Press Corps.

I’m sure there are a hundred thousand reporters who would love to be in the White House press room. Do they all get to file lawsuits because the too big to fail cable news corps get preferential treatment?

Who give the employer control of seating? Do the rent a space?

The employer doesn’t have control, the Press Corps does.
