Correct, certain rights, our unalienable rights are preexisting and come from the creator. Not all rights however do, some are a creation of law. That would be the difference in constitutional rights and legal rights.

I did read the article.
They estimate 291 permits out of the 1.7 million should not have been granted. That’s not a very high number, and it points to the fact Florida is doing a bang up job all things considered.
If they weren’t being that careful, the number would be a helluva lot higher than 291 don’t you think?
They did NOT do the background checks as required by Florida law.

Not true. The checks were done, they (a Florida official) simply did not withhold the permits for those 291 that the BC said should be refused.

Rights are not granted by the SCOTUS or the Constitution. The rights enumerated in the Constitution are recognized as preexisting and protected by the Constitution and the SCOTUS oversees to ensure that the government does not overstep its bounds.

All the SCOUS did there was to clarify that blacks and gays are people and, therefore, have the same rights under the Constitution as all othe people. No new rights were established for anyone.

Just FYI, in FY 2016, about 268,000 new concealed carry permits were issued (*274,000 were applications were made). Only 291 were found to be issued to people that shouldn’t have had them. For PR, this is disastrous. In real life, not so much.
