2022 Atlantic Tropical Weather thread

Interesting path over Appalachia.

I may as well take this opportunity to see how a system like this affects ultralight aviation in the Heartland.

The flooding is pretty bad out here in central Florida, and Fort Myers got absolutely wrecked.

Looks like we might get a late season hurricane on the Florida east coast.

What a quiet year.

It has been quiet.

But as Ian showed us, it only takes one.

In other words, Ian got all the attention because it was the only one.

Here are are the updated various model runs.

The models differ on the track details, but are consistent on the intensity peaking at Category 1. The sudden swing to the northeast will be caused by an approaching cold front.

Global warming …

Quite literally, too!

Sunspot AR3038 really cooked the planet good this year. I have never seen the Missouri ground so dry that it split open like mud does in the sun. There were fissures everywhere, and when it finally rained it looked like little mini rivers everywhere.

I only had to mow the lawn twice all year, so that was severely awesome.

So what happened? Did the election defuse the hurricane?

And here I thought the excitement over a second whole hurricane this year would diffuse the election shenanigans. lol

This storm will likely include Georgia and other states who border the Gulf. This storm’s name is Nicole.

Meanwhile, here in the Heartland…

The airfield is not very conducive to paramotoring today.
