If we’re using “sore losers” as a good metric to determine whether a president should get a third term, Obama is owed about 4 more terms, given the obstruction plotted by the GOP before Obama ever took office.

In December 2008, Cantor gathered his House whip team and two Republican pollsters at his condo building. With the media narrative dominated by the terrifying danger of a second Great Depression and the historic election of the first black president, Cantor wanted to discuss his strategy for responding to the Democratic landslide. It was a messaging strategy, not a governing strategy, and it was pretty simple. It was to defy the conventional wisdom that Republicans needed to move to the center and reach out to Obama if they wanted to start reviving their ruined brand. “We’re not here to cut deals and get crumbs and stay in the minority for another 40 years,” Cantor declared. “We’re going to fight these guys.”

Cantor knew he couldn’t stop Obama’s agenda in the House. But he figured that if Republicans stuck together and made sure the president couldn’t brag about bipartisan support for his progressive priorities, they could make him pay a political price for failing to cure the partisan divisions in Washington.

and then a bit further:

That same weekend, McConnell gathered his depleted Senate Republican caucus in the ornate Members Room of the Library of Congress to deliver a similar non-governing message. He warned his colleagues that they would have nothing to gain from working with the incoming president, that bipartisan cooperation would just make Obama look like a hero.

This is why the 2013 immigration bill didn’t pass, among other things. A bill that gave the GOP a lot of things they wanted was killed so that Obama wouldn’t get a victory.

The GOP planned to make sure Obama never even had the remote appearance of bipartisan support for anything he did, ever.

So 8 more years for Obama is fair, right?

It’s getting closer

Both parties are a ■■■■ show nowadays. The greatest generation is gone and we’re left with baby boomers Gen Xers and millennials.

Yeah, for as much complaining as people do on the right, Republicans really screwed the country over by doing nothing so that their opponent couldn’t get a “victory”

I talked to old friend just before Thanksgiving…things seems to be holding for Trump. Now he’s closer to Williamsport. He has friends in Scranton Wilkes-Barre area.

If you think Joe Biden is going to wrap up Pa…you might want to guess again.

Also NE Ohio is still strong Trump country…even after closure of old Steel mill.

I don’t know if this is what Gov. Huckabee is thinking but…

Technically Trump could switch up the ticket in 2024 to Pence as the President and Trump as the Vice President. Pence then resigns and Trump becomes President for a 3rd term.

The 22nd Amendment prevents a President from being elected more than twice to the Office of President. It does not preclude someone being elected to the Office of Vice President and assuming the office upon the resignation of the President.

Not going to happen, but technically it could be done.

A third term is preposterous.

Still very early. I would suggest nothing I have seen from the current version of Joe Biden suggests he is more adept on the campaign trail than Hilary was in 2016. This is without factoring in the PR impact of the Ukrainian COI that will be as omnipresent as the desire for D to make impeachment a stain on Trump.

Challenging 83 year old farmers to pushups?

C’mon man.

Lets see how many kids Joe can get to stroke his legs first before we just decide that all libs want the Kid Sniffer in place of Trump.

With an emphasis on “old.” We know older voters will still vote for Trump. The key to winning these battleground is for Democrats to get younger people to show up to the polls.

And when congressional Democrats moved to impeach, Trump defenders would bleat “technically legal” out one side of their mouth with "

The deal is done. All will become clear.

Walker is not Trump.

Some of those old friend were union democrats, or blue dog democrats.

Fracking had brought in lots of wealth in that part of the country.

Living Constitution. It isn’t 1789 anymore. Things change. Old men in whigs.

Us liberals are known for our open minds.

Who in the current clown car is better?

None of them asked a foreign government to interfere in our elections, that’s for sure.

I would cheer for Jengis Khan to keep libs out of power.
