“1776 Commission” Pro-American History To Counter “The 1619 Project”

Are you white?

Over 50?

Then your parents and perhaps you benefited greatly because your family did not have specific laws or policies designed to oppress. You benefited by not being oppressed.

Thank goodness, my great grandfather fought in the War for Irish Independence and even I know that’s nonsense.

True.

That wasn’t my talking point…

“The US was built on slavery”

That is what that person was replying to.

Cool story. Speaking of slaves, did you know that the origin of that word comes directly from my ancestors?

It is very amazing isn’t it?

But it wasn’t. Perhaps some of the starter cash, but certainly not “all of it”.

Why would’t he just end the 1619 project? Isn’t that a part of the DoE over which he has providence?

Hate to tell you but your ancestors took from my people.
See my people built the United States long before your people ever step one foot on the shores of the United States.

It is. You know what else is a cool story? The book The Balkans by Misha Glenny that covers the Eastern European Slavic nations from their wars for independence from the Ottoman Empire until the 1990s.

Seriously though, I was mesmerized and that’s not even my heritage.

If a VC gave your startup it’s first 1 million dollars… how can you then claim that your startup wasn’t built by that money?

The US became an economic power via cotton exports. Who picked that cotton for free?

Not mine

Long before my people were brought here…

In fairness, my overall heritage is all 50 shades of white, so my ancestors were all slavers and the enslaved at one point or another.

There were no jim crow laws in my state.

Because of the other 9 million dollars that came from somewhere else.

You keep responding to arguments that I am not making.

I simply said the US was built on slavery. That’s it. That is what you are responding to.

AW HELL YEAH!! Nothing turns on the voters like history, baby.

I know and where I live not one thing was built on slavery. In fact your ancestors build their lives at the expense of my people.

Google is who they are today because someone gave them a lot of money at the beginning.

The US is where they are today because of free labor and selective breeding, at the beginning of the union, that allowed them to gain significant wealth.

Now this I can agree with. Conquest was a real thing.
