“1776 Commission” Pro-American History To Counter “The 1619 Project”

When I was a kid, whites only facilities was still a thing in the deep south. That was an abomination.

Part of the out-going generation, eh?

A lot of this stuff isn’t ancient history. It is in living memory.

Can’t start to dismantle the system in the 1960’s and say “We are coll now… right?”

Your state is in the US, correct?

The vast majority of southerners did not own slaves so the claim they built the South is inaccurate as well.

My ancestors owned zero slaves for example.

Maybe they(slaves) helped build the South but the claim they built it is absolutely false.

You didn’t have to own slaves to benefit from their labor. Do you own a farm? Walmart? Target? No? May you still benefit from them? Yes!

The US benefited greatly from slavery. You and your parents benefited greatly from Jim Crow. None of which requires you/your family to own slaves

And white people benefited greatly from it.

All of Europe, and therefore the United States, benefited from my ancestors being enslaved.

I’m not even mad. :man_shrugging:

My state was not even a state during the civil war. No slaves were ever owned in my state. Not one slave built a darn thing here.
Now tell me how much history do they teach about your ancestors killing and raping my people?

My parents and I benefited in no way from jim crow. I will not even go into the rest of the nonsense in your post.

I find it amazing that complete strangers can seek to tell you all about your life and what you benefited from while at the same time having zero knowledge of your history.

Technically yes. I knew back then it was an abomination. Not because I’m better or smarter, just fortunate to have learned it very early in my life.

Correct. We are still dismantling.

Don’t worry, in less than 30 years, no one will have any sort of childhood blips of seeing such things.

Programs like the G.I. Bill for mortgages and college basically excluded black people.

You didn’t answer my question…

Is your state in the US?

Please tell me you don’t mean the Irish.

Doesn’t it suck when states formed after slavery ended, dismantling that failed talking point about slaves building their state?

No doubt.

I do not, but thank you for not fully committing to a projection this time. :man_shrugging:
