Will the FDA restrict Viagra?

There are promising reports that Viagra (generic name, sildenafil) can treat COVID. That could be the kiss of death for the drug if recent history holds.

Will doctors lose their license for prescribing Viagra to COVID patients?

Will hospitals ban Viagra prescriptions for COVID?

Will CNN run a non-stop scare campaign about the dangers of Viagra (sildenafil) and call it “dog pills”?

From what I see, the vaccinations-are-the-only-answer approach has a lot of parallels to the Space Shuttle program. NASA did everything it could to get rid of competing launch systems to force all commercial payloads to go onto the Space Shuttle. NASA provided grossly optimistic projections about the launch capability and safety of the shuttle. The shuttle program had a spectacular start, but then it literally crashed and burned and left US without a viable alternative.

Is this where the vaccines are today? When do we stop killing other alternatives?

Is that a picture of the space shuttle program crashing and burning?

They flew another 25 years on more than 100 missions.

Yes, the space shuttle was still around for many years, but the program was ground for over two and a half years after the first shuttle explosion. Soviet and later Russian rockets handled most commercial payloads after the explosion.

The shuttle history showed that government agencies and large corporations are fine with ignoring the warning signs and using their power to crush competing programs even when it puts human lives at risk. Even the most basic engineering or safety issues may be ignored:

I expect that similar things are happening with the COVID vaccines.

In a way that’s what viagra is for….

Since it is not a approved treatment for Covid, I would hope that they would lose their license for prescribing it for Covid.

Republican will really try anything other then vaccines.

The promising report is one woman who was in a coma woke up, but you can’t prove it was because of viagra or the dozen other drugs she was also given.

Apples and oranges. I don’t think you can make a comparison of agency protocols between government agencies. Especially a NASA protocol from 1986 and a FDA protocol from 2022. Can you?

Getting enormous long lasting erections to cure COVID, just like the Challenger explosion that permanently scarred me as a five year old watching it live in school.

you had to post about that tragedy in the same paragraph as “erections”?

good lord

Go read the whole exchange. Sheesh.

Off label prescriptions are perfectly legal.

But not always wise. I’m going through a ton of medical problems right now because my ■■■■■■■ former cardiologist prescribed high dose prednisone off label for a condition I have. The side effects put me in the hospital. My sister has almost talked me into suing him for malpractice.

If your lawyer can prove his prescribing a drug for your condition caused your harm you should sue his ass. Doctors are not infallible and ■■■■ up occasionally because they are either ill informed or think their ■■■■ doesn’t stink believing their treatment plan for a patient is what’s best drawing on their “vast knowledge”.
When one of my sons was about 14 he had to have his appendix removed. While anesthetized the anesthesiologist let his head flop dislocating two vertebrae in his neck. They tried traction then the kid had to wear a halo for 3 months. Good thing it worked otherwise the orthopedic surgeons were talking fusing the vertebrae. When all was said and done it was proven he did not “provide the standard of care” to prevent that kind of injury. ■■■■■■■■■ right we sued his ass and my son was awarded the highest settlement the statute allowed. Ruined the kid athletically. He’s 36 now and still has a phobia about doctors.

I hope that you are fine now and will have good health in the future. And I hope that you have good legal counsel in this case. It is way too easy to have lawyers tell you that you have a strong case as you continue to pay them while the lawyers for the doctor keep on stalling. Malpractice suits can be really tricky., I wish you luck.

People do know there is ZERO proof vaigra does anything for COVID right…

It was actually a doctor in the hospital who kind of got that idea going. I was unresponsive when I first got to the ER. Since my sister has my medical power of attorney, he discussed the situation with her that the Prednisone was not FDA approved for the way he was trying to use it, and that with my medical profile it was actually causing harm in other areas. Since then, I have met with my pulmonologist, primary care, and ophthalmologist who all agreed that I should never have been put on Prednisone long term with the conditions they treat. All have given me documentation to support this. Someone from social services at the hospital met with me and recommended a couple of attorneys they know that are successful with these type of cases. I’m still trying to decide on an attorney - checking references, reviews, etc. It’s a mess. I’m basically back to where I was about a year ago at this point because of all this, so I’ve basically lost a year of progress.

If it did not cause permanent damage then that is a really good thing. A few years back I listened to a attorney talk about these types of civil suits. His suggestion was that whenever possible have a jury hear the case. And he said that if you lose get another attorney and sue again. And perhaps it will take multiple times until you get a jury who will be on your side. And he also said something I found interesting.
Note that he practiced in California. He said that the average award was about a third of what is being asked for.

If they hadn’t altered the definition of vaccine they couldn’t be called vaccines, at least not in the US.

In fact, to the extent they do anything (because they don’t actually prevent being sick or being contagious) they behave as the often slandered (for not being vaccines) concoctions that merely helped with symptoms to give the sick time to recover.

Well, that and also have unknown long term side effects.

Yes.

But the makers of viagra no doubt want in on some of that sweet sweet Covid money and the attendant stock options. Why should the vax people get most all the swag?
