Astute
why thank you
i am happy with lowly mere “thinkman” but this is cool
which is why you invest in it, so the technology can advance and become cheaper.
computer use to be too expensive.
If you want to bank the future of energy production on hope, be my guest. It seems foolish to me.
So you’re saying the technology doesn’t exist yet?
Seems like that’s the major criticism for various “green” programs.
sure. while avoiding putting all the eggs in one basket
neither wind nor solar has the energy density as nuke, but they can be employed where economically viable
You should never putt all your egg in the same basket.
we should invest in growing green tech because its the future, we should expand nuclear, hydroelectric to remove the need for coal, etc.
right. but nincompoopic leftists want all green energy fantasies employed now
whereas nuke is mature, supplies demand, and all with 0 carbon emission.
less than 12 years left. not much time to waste
but only as the market demands
otherwise, california rolling blackouts become a thing
have some faith. wind and solar may one day be more economically viable
That doesn’t make it renewable.
And that’s “current rates of consumption”…a measure I friggin’ hate because it doesn’t reflect reality.
The reality is we have far fewer years of uranium left because consumption isn’t constant.
Rolling blackouts are a thing of the past here
Maybe you should spend more time making a better argument and less time name calling. It might be more convincing.
Sooner than nuclear I’m sure.
haha yeah cuz no one on the left calls names here huh. mkay
Sooner than nuclear I’m sure.
nukes been providing widespread power since 70’s
wind, solar, not so much
Take it up with them. Not my problem.
With extremely heavy subsidies. Even by wind/solar standards.
So, OK, the planet will be here no matter what we do. Please, don’t tell me about saving the planet. But . . . humans are pretty successful biologically. Maybe not as successful as bacteria, but pretty successful. Many of us (?) attribute our success to our big brains, but I suspect bacteria are smart enough to not attribute their success to their big brains.
We do some pretty stupid things that we believe are cool. Like believing wearing a sweet neck-choker makes us more fit for reproductive success. Well, if you have a crappy tie, you’re probably a loser and won’t get laid, even if it’s the better choice. Other cultures believe just as ridiculous things, like wearing a bone through your nose is a chick magnet. Well, pretty close to nose rings these days I guess.
So the human brain makes us think some pretty absurd things and the most absurd thing is that we control nature. We conquer things, right? Like mountains, polio, and the Superbowl.
But how has our situation on the planet improved (not the planet, mind you). Since the origins of cities and states, has warfare diminished? Has human inequality diminished? (Except those who have benefited from the fossil fuel era). Has our environment improved or has it become more and more disturbed? Have landfills become smaller? Has ocean garbage been reduced? Have plastics not entered our biosystem? Has earth orbiting debris been reduced?
I love Mozart, but was it worth it?
