Law of diminishing return shows us that there is a point at which further regulation is detrimental rather than helpful. We reached that point a while ago.
Why is it the only two options with you people are either more legislation or slashing legislation. Why not just say job well done and maintain the status quo?
Not all that much. The reality is in the US we have cleaned up the environment. The regulations we have passed to date have done the job. Now more regulation is unnecessary and would actually be detrimental to our economy.
Passing new laws won’t make the environment significantly cleaner than it already is. For example, we already have laws that prohibit littering. Passing more laws against littering won’t reduce litter. Enforcing already established laws WILL reduce litter.
