Why is the economy so good right now?

Please add any reasons that you van think of.

Consumer confidence is high having a highly successful businessman in office rather than a community organizer.

  1. The Trump tax cuts, especially cutting corporate rates.

  2. Slashing of federal regulations allowing business to operate without oppressive government interference.

  3. Some mysterious Obama policy that nobody knows about, that after 8 or 9 years finally kicked into gear. :joy::rofl::smiley::sweat_smile:

Please feel free to add your own.

Itā€™s all Trump, of course:

You failed to provide your own thoughts. Donā€™t be shy.

Isnā€™t that what you want to hear? That Trump gets all the credit? Thereā€™s nothing else to provide-Dear Leader provides all!

I think the graph reflected his thoughts. The economy is a continuing trend that was in progress before Donald took office.

More jobs were created under Obama in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 than under Trump in 2017.

2013: 2.302 million
2014: 2.998 million
2015: 2.713 million
2016: 2.240 million
2017: 2.188 million

President Trump recently at his campaign rallies have been bragging that there have been about 3.7 million jobs created since election day of November of 2016. But during the 20 previous months before that time, there were about 4.3 million jobs created.

The economy is good, mostly for Wall Street.

Inequality is still ahuge problem.
Wage stagnation is still a problem.

Middle class is still hurting.

  1. A continuation yet slight downtrend from Obamaā€™s term.

Wages are not keeping up with inflation. That is bad.

Housing costs outpacing income is a problem too.

As for why and who gets credit for the economyā€“Iā€™m old fashioned. To the victory belong the spoils. Canā€™t say enough inappropriate things about Pres. Trump as I have a limited vocabulary. But as he won, and the economy is improving, he should get some credit. Likewise, that explicit bigotry is on the rise, he should get credit for that too. The President is the universal recipient of praise and blame. Thatā€™s the job.

No. It isnā€™t. That would be boring. I would much rather here your reason that he doesnā€™t get any credit. Partial credit? A smidgen of credit?

Is it really good? The forgotten man is happy now? Coal miners found work thatā€™s not McDonalds?

The middle class is doing amazingly. Not even CNN claims they are hurting. If they are hurting it is because they are living above their means. Every one of them who wants to work is employed. And yes, they are paying less taxes. Good stuff.

Where did I say he doesnā€™t get any credit? I literally told you what you wanted to her in my very first response:

Yes it is. And I have absolute proof. If it were not, then the DNC and CNN would be hammering him on the economy. They donā€™t because they cannot find any weak spots. This is the best we have been in generations.

Temporarily.

Weā€™re also paying more for gas, milk, and every day,Glorious Leader is costing us more with his trade war.

I mean, define ā€œamazingly.ā€ I certainly donā€™t make enough to marry super models, have someone else raise my kids for me, start a multi-million dollar ponzi scheme to ā€œteach people about real estate,ā€ and pay myself to vacation at my own resorts as president of the US.

Like I stated in post #2, itā€™s all thanks to Dear Leader. His name be praised. Amen.

Once is enough thank you. We heard you the first time.

As I learned from talk radio, the plummeting economy when Obama was elected was his fault. And the economy stabilized despite his best efforts to stop it. Trumpā€™s election made everything better because everyone knew what to expect-big, permanents for the most rich among us. After all, because they create all the jobs, theyā€™re not allowed to be criticized for paying the slavesā€¦I mean serfsā€¦I mean employees respectable wages/salaries. Because after all, those at the top need it the most. They earned it. Capitalism.

I donā€™t think you did, which is why I had to repeat myself. Why even start the thread, when you already know the answer?

Thatā€™s a dangerous political position to defend since the current 2-income middle class generation remembers the single-income middle class generation.

ā€œEverything is greatā€ is typically a losing position unless everyone substantially raises their lifestyle in that time. 20 extra dollars a week ainā€™t gonna cut it to sell this ā€œgreatest in generationsā€ slogan.
