In this case I actually looked at a book mentioned in the articles… silly me. I just want indoctrination or something.
There’s a common theme of the books that are being tagged for inappropriateness…three guesses and two don’t count as to what that theme is.
I find it more than a little funny that Muslims are in the wrong according to the left now. For the past 20+ years every criticism of them was Islamophobia.

Again: I am okay with a stricter standard for schools. Especially with the opt out system described in the article.
Yeah, only need the one guess: LGBTQ issues.

Have you ever been to a public school or their library? Librarians and teachers have beg students to check out books. And most of the time they get outdated biographies of Stephan Curry or Lebron James. You’re making way too big of a deal about this and calling school officials child molesters could be slanderous in a different setting.

Contrary to your thinking, it is a criminal act to make pornography available to minors, and especially so in a public school.

One time in middle school I checked out “A Turn of the Screw” and boy was I disappointed

If you think the books are inappropriate complain to the librarian.
If she disagrees talk to the principle
If she disagrees talk to,the school board.
If they disagree organize to replace them.
If that fails try the state education department to check their authority over books.
Petition the governor or state legislature to do something about it.
Failing that, homeschooling is about your remaining option.
Or move.
Actually, you start by filing a challenge to the book. Typically, there is a process already in place for this

These deflections are always fascinating to me…the new right constantly looking for the lowest common denominator to which to compare themselves,
“Hey…I hate the gays and think they’re going to Hell, but at least I don’t kill them like Muslims do”.
Now fundamentalist Muslims are bad? Just trying to follow along here.
And for the record, I really don’t care what they show in schools, as long as it’s not one sided.
We swept the last 2 lib school board members out of office locally.
Voters nation wide should do the same.

You’re going to have to find posts of mine where I call Muslim fundamentalism good…or you can just keep lumping and putting people in political boxes.
If the new right gets its way, education will be one sided.
They aren’t fighting against indoctrination…they are fighting to get their indoctrination in schools.
Most will even admit it if you just ask them.
They of course will couch it in terms like “we persuaded them we had the better argument”.
But what they are out for is an education that reflects their take on “Judeo Christian values”.
And the left doesn’t indoctrinate, of course
