Look at their platform not what the past was advocating. They are a center left party the only remotely right right wing thing they are asking for is a points based immigration system which doesnât discriminate on color but rather if one came speak Swedish or are skilled laborer which is what Sweden needs they donât need unskilled laborers there is no opportunity for them.
They even do things that should be just mainstream common sense for instance they still have child marriage in certain areas cough Malmo they wanted to make it illegal.

Sorry man. The SD only started to back away from itâs Neo Nazi roots in the early 2000âs and as late as a couple of years ago still had to purge people for being NAZIs.
They are a reactionary right populist nativist party that has become more popular from the economic troubles stemming from 2008 and the refugee crises of the last decade.
This is something that is not unique to Sweden because these nativist populists are popping up all over.
It shows a failure of the moderate forms of European government to serve the people that the choices of far right politics are becoming more and more appealing to those who are basically in the middle.
We have seen this play out before⊠hopefully the ending wonât be as terrible this time around.
