Before i reuploaded the avatar. I choose one of the default choices and hit save. Then uploaded the avatar and a hit save again

Well, not completely true.

I see my avatar in this thread, but I see this on the main page:

I cleared cache for my browser. Still the same.

I see avatars inside threads now (which is really all I care about), but it’s still like the screenshots I posted a few moments ago.

Is there something I need to do for this site specifically?

The site’s cache is different than ours, and the cloud storage adds extra annoyances in events like these. What was uploaded before the change is gone now, with echos of the images from the cloud storage remaining.

The pic you had uploaded earlier contains all the same image data as before, so it will likely be an issue re-uploading it (like what happened last time).

Happened to my avatar too. To fix it, I opened it in an image editor, trimmed off a couple of pixels from the bottom of the image, saved, uploaded. Boom. New pic with new image data, un-cached and displaying correctly.

I can see that @FreeAndClear and @W_and_C 's avatars are among the very few currently displaying correctly.
