Yeah, I’m curious why he doesn’t want to be called a democrat. He absolutely is a democrat by all metrics.

Because he is an Independent.

If he wanted to be a Democrat he could join the Democratic Party, but he hasn’t. He chooses to be an Independent.

I don’t know if I would brag about it too much the two leaders of your party (Pelosi and Schumer) launched 1000 memes during the oval office rebuttal the other night. And even Liebermann is younger than the no 1 and no 2 nominees leading the presidency for the democratic party (Biden and Sanders). So it’s true there is a few young ones like “Commie” Cortez dancing around in the background, the leaders of your party are fossils.

I ain’t bragging (although the two Democrats who’ve announced their candidacies most recently are 45 and 38). No one argues that Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi are the future of the Democratic Party, either.

But the 76-year old Joe Lieberman–who, unlike Ortez, lost has last primary and endorsed a GOP presidential candidate–has zero status, insight, or credibility in making a judgement about the “future” of the Democratic party that any Democrat is likely to care about. How is this even an argument?
