What has become of America?

Translation:

I am going to come here and tell you how you are all wrong but not tell you why you are wrong so I don’t have to defend an argument.

Works every time.

Damn socialist in fly over country! There’s our problem right there.

In some ways better. In other ways worse. Depends on the circumstances of the situation.

It’s part of the oath you take when you join the military. Obviously something you can’t understand and perfect example of who I was talking about.

Partisan politics and their partisan news outlets seek to exacerbate natural ideological and cultural differences in a diverse America that is more unified that divided.

I have never had a problem finding common ground with fellow Americans. But that could also be my pathetic need to be loved by all.

I don’t think throw any Clinton into your argument, coming from the backwoods where it’s ok to marry your first cousin at ten years old.

In English, please.

Yep. The last election cycle really put the nail in the coffin for me.

His purpose is to make a thread inviting participation in order for him to tell us how little we understand.

Uhm Sneaky was career army.

Please, please tell me that you are simply playing off my lead here.

My heart sank when I read this from you.

Any of these other ring-dings, sure. I had/have more faith in you than that.

Phew…

Damn.

No, the idea of America is simpler than that.

No royalty, rule of law.
One man, one vote.
Blind justice.
A place where a man, 40 acres, a rifle, an axe, and a mule could profit from the sweat of his brow and build a future for his family.

It is truly an idea. See Alexis de Tocqueville, it was a new way to establish governance of a civil society.
People came here because thier worlds were irreconcilably oppressive. I know this from both sides of my family.

You know that Tide reference you keep making would be kinda funny (it is still is kinda) if it wasn’t for the fact that the number of morons who swallow Tide is vastly outnumbered by the number of morons in your generation who thought chaw was a good idea

an ideal which most Americans agree with.

it’s just a matter of getting there, that is where we differ.
