I will disagree a bit. Designated by name. But you make a valid point.
My counter is: It will disproportionately affect white students and is therefore racist in intent. Which is the same standard promoted by the critically conscious.
If this is these people’s intent as well as the sheer willingness of the Woke whites to roll over and take it, and by all appearances it is, give it time.
What’s funny is in that little window of time before Jim Crow gained traction this little conversation may have found precedent, but it’s just been lost to time.
Why? To create a majority? They are “the other”. The other 2%. It’s not called “The Other Affinity Housing”. Asians and Latinos are bother much larger minorities.
The White Affinity Housing program is located on the fifth floor of Alma Clark Glass Hall, named for the first white student to attend Western Washington University in 1893. The program explores and celebrates the diversity of White and Anglo American people and culture, with historical and contemporary context. All Western students residing in the program help foster a warm and vibrant community supporting social, personal and academic success.
Also I didn’t ask you for a personal rewrite. I asked for the actual policy.
But let’s assume you were Dean for a day… why would you need such a program when 95%+ of the student population is white? Is there a lack of understanding white history? Aka “American history”
