Yes, and AKA was once known as the light skin African American sorority, which is a whole other issue. There’s a reason why there are black sororities and fraternities. Minorities were banned by almost all greek organizations and still are at some university chapters. There was an infamous video about six years ago with Sigma Alpha Epsilons at Oklahoma singing that “there will never a ****** in SAE.” Apparently the song had been sung at many universities.
Not necessary…I know a Japanese that talks and act just like I do, Born and grow up in rural America…and so was his dad. His mother was third generation from California. He has nothing in common with Japanese culture/people.
But it’s good that people are now talking about culture over race etc. I remember saying culture, traditions and heritage plays biggest part in human relationship. And libs here on this very forum ridiculed it.
I don’t disagree with this sentiment, but race is also very important. Years ago, I saw a segment on the a small Chinese community in the Mississippi Delta. The community has been there for over 100 years, thick Southern Accents, Christians, regular Americans. But they still have different experiences because of their race. There was a quote that really stuck out with me, “Because of our appearance, are we always going to be foreigners? We don’t look like American people?”
The community has been there for over 100+ years, and they are still made to feel like foreigners.
Why do both Left and Right see people as only being part of some larger group they can blame for whatever their grievances are, when everyone is an individual?
